So sorry Nick. I should not have poked my snout in.

:bg:

Not at all Jim, I'd much rather be proved wrong than believe I'm right and be 'off the beam' as it were. In any case it proves the point that I should have posted the spec rather then be mysterious about it. I'll do that tomorrow - too late now

I just up-graded my RAM to 2x2Gb, so I have the following available to sell:

2 x 1GB PC2-6400 Sticks of GEIL DDR2 - 800 , a matched pair for running in Dual-channel. Rated at CL=4-4-4-12@2.1v, I have been running them at CL=5-5-5-18@1.8v, which is the SPD rating for running at 4OOMHz.

They have only been in here since I built this rig about four months ago. I'd like a tenner for them, plus UK postage, or maybe someone could call and take them up to Duxford if there's any interest.

They are working fine, and the serial number is GX2GB6400UDC.

Going back in time......... :)

I just swapped out an old ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128Mb AGP graphics card from a friend's rig. I know it's not particularly 'up there' as cards go, so it's free to anyone in the UK who wants to pay postage (probably about a fiver).

I retro-fitted it with a Zalman VF700-Cu VGA cooler and ramsinks several years ago, so it may be useful for parts, or use in an AGP rig (FB on Excellent or lower).

I also have a QuickShot MasterPilot panel lurking at the back of a cupboard somewhere. It served me very well for many years.

One point though. When was the last time you programmed it for a sim? I could never get it to work under XP, and had to borrow my father-in-law's ancient 386-based, Windows 95 dinosaur rig to get the keystrokes to register on the cartridge. Even used under Windows 98 I used to get the message saying (something like) "use a slower computer!"

I think I used to need to disable DMA to slow down the transmission of data! Lol.

A good piece of kit if you can get it to work though - a sort of poor-man's MFP panel.

I'm not quite so sure about the Dan Dare-style, widow's peak head-warmer

Would anyone have an AGP Nvidia card better or equal to an XFX 6800XTreme 8X 256MB DDR3 available for sale?

I presently have the above ( but it's recently started heating up to 128C in game. Needless to say, I can't play until that is resolved.

Hi m8,

I have an AGP 256Mb 6800 Ultra from my old rig kicking about somewhere (problem is finding it amongst the current chaos of moving back in to my home).

Was fine when last used, and never been overclocked - I didn't know how.......

Would you be interested?

I've landed a A7v333-+ Mobo PC for working on a guys other machine I know here locally.

Not much payment but he's broke too, obviously if he's bring them to me and not a store LOL

I need to locate a Some Memory, I put 3400 stuff in and it works. Even though it calls for 2700.

And a Video card. It support 4x AGP so and ATI 9800 or Geforce TI 4800 or equivalent in that era would work.

I'm going to try and get it running for Dad so he can fly again.

I'll just have to keep him down at the 1024 level on graphics, and turn off a bunch of the Mod effects. Sure not really top end, but he'd best not kick the gift horse in the mouth.
