The Big Fat Aeroplane Video Thread!

Ah yes, the Widowmaker. Complete insanity
  3. Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th July 2018. Should be a big show as 2018 marks the centenary of the formation of the RAF and the end of the Great War. Rooms are currently available to book at the usual hotel at £95 per night (at present) Hope to see as many Dogz as possible there. Jabo Ticket prices are out!

    Flying Legends 2018

Thanks for the update Chris. Something which definitely WON'T be there this year is nonetheless making some nice progress now...Believed to be in H2 at DX (final assembly?) Photo taken 12/06/2018 (credit to BeaufighterVI on the Key forums) And Berlin Express has a new lid! (and as I type has possibly already been flown by Mr Romain)

The Big Fat Aeroplane Video Thread!

I remember the very first time I saw the Tiger, I wasn't even aware such a thing existed before! TFC's ironworks 4-ship 'cat display was a wonderful thing to behold.

Might be up for that Dave, as I'm not sure if I have a +1 for my room - So...Possibly a spare room at DX hotel going begging - anyone?

  10. So is this week odd or even?
  11. Thought it might be useful if we pinned a post with useful links and things at the top here. IL-2 Mission Planner http://il2missionplanner.com/ (Thanks to Thrudd)
  12. And lucky there was a set of wings nearly complete in the States which they could use.

    Flying Legends 2018

Unless you're buying them as a 'Friend' of the IWM - no early bird prices then 😞
  14. Cliffs of Dover Blitz Edition has been released! mmmm Beaufighters. Bear in mind that this is, to all intents and purposes, a new game so the download is quite large (6.3GB) but if you have high-speed broadband that should not pose a problem. You will need to download and install Blitz before you can access the DangerDogz CloD server as that has now been updated to v4.5. So what's new? Additional New Aircraft Variants Flyable: Bf-109 E-1B (Early Fighter-Bomber) Bf-109 E-4N (DB601N Engine and 100 Octane Fuel) Bf-109 E-4/E4B and E-4N Versions (Added Armor for Fuel Tank and Pilot) Bf-110 C-2 Bf-110 C-4 Late Bf-110 C-4B (Early Fighter-Bomber) Bf-110 C-4N (DB601P Engines with 100 Octane Fuel) Bf-110 C-4NJG (Night-Fighter) Bf-110 C-6 (Heavy 30mm Cannon Armed Version) Blenheim Mk.IV Late (Twin-Gun Rear Turret and Extra Bomb-Load) Blenheim Mk.IV F (Heavy Day-Fighter) Blenheim Mk.IV F Late (Twin-Gun Rear Turret and Extra Bomb-Load) Blenheim Mk.IV NF (Night-Fighter) Blenheim Mk.IV NF (Twin-Gun Rear Turret and Extra Bomb-Load) Spitfire Mk.I 100 octane Hurricane DH-520 100 octane Hurricane Mk.I NF (Night-Fighter) Hurricane Mk.I FB (Fighter-Bomber) Beaufighter Mk.I F Beaufighter Mk.I NF (Night-Fighter) DH-82A-1 (Field Mod Armed Tiger Moth) DH-82A-2 (Czechoslovakian Armed Tiger Moth) DH-82A (Battle of Britain Tiger Moth version with bomb carrying capacity) Non-Flyable: Sunderland added bomb capacity Blenheim Mk.I F (Heavy Day-Fighter) Blenheim Mk.I NF (Night-Fighter) Additional Improvements: 64 Bit Support and DX11 Graphics New Seasonal Map Textures New and Improved Sounds New Ships Better Aircraft Visibility New Reflections Improvements to Cockpit Graphics New Blackout Effects New Aircraft Skins Updated Visual Effects Better Flight Modeling and Aerodynamics Better Engine and Overheat modeling Improved Weapons Modeling Updated Damage Modeling Improved AI Aircraft Behavior Player controlled Vehicles and AAA Artillery New Game Loading Screens Having been involved in the Beta test program, I can confirm that this is very, very nice now - Not perfect by any means, but much improved and a tribute to the guys at TFS.

    Watcha Got Cookin'?

surely the goo squished between my heatsink and CPU would be classed as 'open'
  16. Hi Roberts - it's been a while! Much like FT, I'm using an (ancient) MS Sidewinder 2 FFB stick, secondhand Saitek pedals, CH Throttle quadrant (the last iteration of the software runs OK on Win 10) and a custom button box so I don't have much experience with the newer sticks but your hardware choices look good. You could save some money by going for a GTX980 rather than the 1060 - I believe the performance is similar - certainly my 980 runs all the current sims with all the eye candy on at decent frame rates.

    Flying Legends 2018

Interesting article - I am rather envious of Richard Grace's toybox, even if Air Leasing is the operator rather than the owner of the aircraft.

    Flying Legends 2018

It flies! P-47 'Nellie' (G-THUN) about to touchdown after a test sortie from her Duxford home (At least I think it's Duxford - don't remember all those trees though). This is going to freakin' AWESOME (as long as they open the taps a bit and not just have her stooging around with Sally B!) (Not my photo - it's in focus - Credit to Duxman over at the Historic Aviation forum)

    What a Hoot

Some of those old kites are plenty tricksy, especially ground handling, take-offs and landings

    Hey fellas!

Welcome back Smash, as they say, once a dangerdog, always a dangerdog.
  22. This is looking REALLY good!
  23. I'd prefer engines off but pre-warmed at mission start personally but it's a good step in the right direction
