  1. online servers

Count me in too Arthur - Mondays or Wednesdays work for me too. Fridays not so much as they're usually binge night lol
  2. online servers

Agreed, but if GBS is the way we're going in the future perhaps it's something we need to look into - I'll do some research and see what information is out there.
  3. online servers

Could we have our own server with the settings we prefer?
  4. Flying Legends 2018

I'm 15 mins from Birmingham Airport - happy to collect you on Friday morning and drop you back there Sunday evening if that works
  5. Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th July 2018. Should be a big show as 2018 marks the centenary of the formation of the RAF and the end of the Great War. Rooms are currently available to book at the usual hotel at £95 per night (at present) Hope to see as many Dogz as possible there. Jabo Ticket prices are out!

  7. Datamancer Sojourner keyboard on amazon

Sure, after all, who needs BOTH kidneys... When you get a chance ask Crash about his rudder pedals...
  8. It's been mentioned elsewhere that we should have a single post detailing current settings/versions etc of the game and comms software required to join in the online shenanigans. Here's an attempt to do this. Current stock game version - 4.12.2 Current modded game version - HSFX 7 Current comms version - Teamspeak 3 (32 and 64-bit versions available) - Use of Push to Talk is preferred. To patch your install of the game to the correct version, please follow the instructions below; 1. Make a copy of your current game folder (obviously you might need to install it first) and rename the copy to 'IL-2 (HSFX7)' (or whatever you like) 2. Download FT's utility dd_Chkmods.zip here. 3. Extract the zip file to a folder (in this case d:\users\nick\downloads\dd_checkmods) 4. Open the folder, find the chkmods.exe file then right-click on it and select 'Run as Administrator' (This is VERY important) 5. Assuming all goes well, you should wind up with a screen that looks a bit like this one; (If you get the following error; then send a PM to FT containing your IP address as he will need to register your access.) 6. Assuming no problem, you then need to ensure that the 'IL2 Modded is in' box points to your newly copied game folder and the 'Check Against' box reads 7.0.3 then click 1. - Verify Mods. Let that run (it may take a while) and once the first step is finished click 2. - Fix Issues. Let this run (it will almost DEFINITELY take a while if you're installing HSFX7 from scratch). Keep verifying and fixing until the verification doesn't find any problems. 7. Close CheckMods, check you can start the game and that version showing on the splash screen is V4.12.2 HSFX v7.0.3. Assuming it is, say some nice things about FT and you're done. 8. Remember 'Expert Mode' is enabled by default through JSGME so you'll be all set up to join an online co-op or dogfight map. So that's it - you're all ready. See you in the big blue! Thanks Jabo
  9. How about a Anson ASR escort misson for the CloD server FT? Anson spawns in on a base we frequent, flies to a point over the Channel, circles for a bit then goes home. We could escort or ignore and at least we'd see one occasionally!
  10. Welcome Mosinut, glad you found your way here. The instructions for getting your install of ‘46 patched up with the mods are in the OP of this thread. Just so you know, Tuesdays and Sundays are currently IL-2 1946 nights and Thursdays are our CloD night. Hope to see you there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I've certainly never seen one in the game. There's a lovely example of the civilian version of the Anson (the Avro Nineteen) in the Shuttleworth collection at Old Warden and there's a military version I occasionally see bimbling about the local area too. Always nice to see.
  12. Well, that's a bit shi....

Wouldn’t make much difference Tom, AMD has problems too. PCS will patch it fully before it comes to you anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Seeing as we are referring new starters to this thread to help them get set up, I have re-worked the OP to reflect our current standards.
  14. Coming back to the kennel!

Congratulations on retiring mate - now, there's this war on....
  15. Cliffs of Dover Blitz Edition has been released! mmmm Beaufighters. Bear in mind that this is, to all intents and purposes, a new game so the download is quite large (6.3GB) but if you have high-speed broadband that should not pose a problem. You will need to download and install Blitz before you can access the DangerDogz CloD server as that has now been updated to v4.5. So what's new? Additional New Aircraft Variants Flyable: Bf-109 E-1B (Early Fighter-Bomber) Bf-109 E-4N (DB601N Engine and 100 Octane Fuel) Bf-109 E-4/E4B and E-4N Versions (Added Armor for Fuel Tank and Pilot) Bf-110 C-2 Bf-110 C-4 Late Bf-110 C-4B (Early Fighter-Bomber) Bf-110 C-4N (DB601P Engines with 100 Octane Fuel) Bf-110 C-4NJG (Night-Fighter) Bf-110 C-6 (Heavy 30mm Cannon Armed Version) Blenheim Mk.IV Late (Twin-Gun Rear Turret and Extra Bomb-Load) Blenheim Mk.IV F (Heavy Day-Fighter) Blenheim Mk.IV F Late (Twin-Gun Rear Turret and Extra Bomb-Load) Blenheim Mk.IV NF (Night-Fighter) Blenheim Mk.IV NF (Twin-Gun Rear Turret and Extra Bomb-Load) Spitfire Mk.I 100 octane Hurricane DH-520 100 octane Hurricane Mk.I NF (Night-Fighter) Hurricane Mk.I FB (Fighter-Bomber) Beaufighter Mk.I F Beaufighter Mk.I NF (Night-Fighter) DH-82A-1 (Field Mod Armed Tiger Moth) DH-82A-2 (Czechoslovakian Armed Tiger Moth) DH-82A (Battle of Britain Tiger Moth version with bomb carrying capacity) Non-Flyable: Sunderland added bomb capacity Blenheim Mk.I F (Heavy Day-Fighter) Blenheim Mk.I NF (Night-Fighter) Additional Improvements: 64 Bit Support and DX11 Graphics New Seasonal Map Textures New and Improved Sounds New Ships Better Aircraft Visibility New Reflections Improvements to Cockpit Graphics New Blackout Effects New Aircraft Skins Updated Visual Effects Better Flight Modeling and Aerodynamics Better Engine and Overheat modeling Improved Weapons Modeling Updated Damage Modeling Improved AI Aircraft Behavior Player controlled Vehicles and AAA Artillery New Game Loading Screens Having been involved in the Beta test program, I can confirm that this is very, very nice now - Not perfect by any means, but much improved and a tribute to the guys at TFS.

  19. That is very good news indeed - I have a lot of time for Logitech. I'll download that and take a look.
  20. Welcome back Kev - hope to see you online here a lot more now!
  21. I have had major issues with Windows 10 but my controls now stay plugged in all the time via a powered USB 3 hub and (crosses fingers) the reassignment problems seem to have gone. I'm not using anything other than the Windows 10 software to control the following; a Sidewinder 2 FFB stick, Saitek Pro Flight pedals, a CH Quadrant and my own Frankenjabo box o'switches The Saitek software has not been updated in a long time (I think) and was not fully compatible with Windows 7 let alone Windows 10. I still use my x52 for Elite albeit very infrequently but I'm just using the in-game assignments not the software. If it's not working in Windows 7 Dave, I doubt that a move to Windows 10 is going to fix it. Could be wrong though...
  22. We need to talk...

True, and what a fine job they made of it too. (I worked for the company delivering the NHS upgrade (I was on a different project thank God) - complete clusterf**k from beginning to end) I'm sure the decision has been made too, but I doubt the user base will accelerate the process especially if the replacement 64-bit software doesn't exist. Anyhoo...all a moot point until MS actually decide to tell their customers what they're planning.
  23. You truly are a splendidly public-spirited chap! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. We need to talk...

I’m not sure this is automatically the case. Less than 8% of new Windows machines were shipping with a 32-bit operating system in 2015 and (according to some figures) that’s down to less than 2% now so it sounds like nVidia are just making a sound commercial decision. Too many businesses and governments rely on 32-bit applications for MS or Apple to simply pull the plug on 32-bit application support overnight. That said, it will happen eventually, I’m sure but we’re probably OK for a few years yet. Don't forget that Windows had 16-bit application support all the way up to Vista!
