1. DDz Quorum DD_Fenrir Posted October 4, 2019 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted October 4, 2019 Dependent on how faithfully Pat Wilson adheres to historical precedent, we potentially have some have some options, as two P-38 groups flew out of airfields available on the Rheine Map. The 474th FG were operating out of A-78 Florennes from 03/10/44 - 30/03/45 and had P-38s throughout or The 370th FG were operating out of A-78 Florennes from 26/09/44 - 27/01/45, then moved to Y-32 Ophoven, converting to the P-51D Mustang in February/March What do you chaps think - all the way in Lightnings or the chance to transfer to Ponies? Crash
I dont mind, I was impressed on the 1 flight I had in the P-51. I like it much more than the 1946 version.

Four months with Lightnings and then see the war out on Mustangs? Sounds good to me.

1. DDz Quorum DD_Fenrir Posted October 5, 2019 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted October 5, 2019 We'll have to wait for the PWCG to be updated for the new map; Pat said that's about 2-3 weeks away. We got some time to get squared away with it.

1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted October 6, 2019 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted October 6, 2019 Will try running Coops today on the Rheinland Map - with the P-38. Or the P-51 - not both in the same mission, as I think not all of us have Blodenplatte? (Hm, would it be a good incentive to buy it if bobp-less they can only fly the I-16 as an escort fighter for GA P-38? )
1. DDz Quorum DD_Fenrir Posted October 14, 2019 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted October 14, 2019 PWCG is now able to generate multiplayer co-ops on the new Rhineland map. Currently runway start only.... Personally I'd prefer to do cold starts at dispersal. Thoughts?
Crash
either would do for me, maybe need to pm other pilots who might not be aware that this will happen.
DD_Arthur
I would prefer to start at dispersal but with a warmed up engine. Does that make sense? I wonder if we should run a trial mission on Tuesday?
1. DDz Quorum DD_Fenrir Posted October 14, 2019 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted October 14, 2019 It's been a few years but I have used PWCG before with RoF and I think I have fairly solid understanding of how to administrate the user/persona aspect, however... This needs to be installed to the machine hosting the co-ops as it references log files produced by the hosts GBS installation and if we want to use the DDz dedicated GBS server as host that requires FT to approve it's installation and to either admin the campaign or allow me access to the server to do so. Given the above, Tuesday could be a bit soon! Give us some more time to figure things out and run a few tests to iron any bugs out first, I would suggest. DD_Arthur
I understand Tom. I've used PWCG in RoF and BoS. I'm just setting up this latest version now. I was thinking of simply generating a mission with PWCG, testing it myself and if it runs ok sending it to FT to run as a coop so we can compare with what we've been getting from Vander's generator. DD_Arthur
Hmmm...okay. We'll have to be the 363rd. FG to fly P38's on PWCG and we'll start on 1st. October 1944 and be based at Petit Brogel. Can't get it to generate a mission for more than four planes atm.

1. DDz Quorum DD_Fenrir Posted October 21, 2019 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted October 21, 2019 Okay so set up a test campaign on my PC to see what the gen is currently... Accomplished: Generated a competitive co-op campaign. Going by the list at the top of this thread I was able to generate a mission for the 9 of us, with spaces allocated to individual players! Nice! Played the mission with AI occupying all the absent DDz slots and it was 👍 Pros: It worked! Cons: No prototypical FG available for P-38 currently. Florennes seemingly unavailable as an airfield to operate from. Only hot start runway available. Runway spawns slightly misaligned with runway On ending the mission and attempting to get PWCG to accept its results and generate a new mission I got an error warning. More work needed methinks.

Crash
I asked about flying slots and got this reply (15 slots) There is no hard limit. That many players would stretch "Cooperative" mode (all players same side, same squadron). However, there are 14 slots per squadron so as long as you do not exceed that Cooperative should work. The biggest challenge might be fitting everybody on the runway with enough room to get airborne. No problem in Competitive mode where players fly for multiple squadrons.. Competitive mode does not really require the players to be competitive. If everybody wants to be on the same side you can do that, just distribute the players among different squadrons. Crash
As Fen is having connection issues, I could host the campaign. Is the generator launched from the PWCG folder? If so after the campaign has been set up I could copy the files over and start it from there. Would that work?
