  3. All around you - you just have to turn round really quickly to catch them at it!
  4. I also upped to 7.02 a couple of days ago and it went fine. I'm just off to the FMB to see about the new features. Is your game running properly now?
  5. Hi again I'm sorry, Col, that I'm not very experienced with nVidia, being a long-term ATI-user myself. I wonder if your Open GL settings aren't over-optimistic? This thread shows that the 311 driver comes via a Windows update, rather than from the nVidia site. It may pay you to download (and install) the latest drivers for your card. Then I think you need to find an nV user and discuss those conf settings Ross
  6. Post your 'conf.ini' file and your graphics details (make of card, current drivers).
  7. Oh, he's a kind of muddy purple with lines of little yellow spots running over his back right to the tip of his nose - but only in the mating season!
  8. Thanks, Chet, a lovely present for 2014!
  9. Timothy Taylor's "Landlord" is a fine beer. Like most beers, other than lager, it should be drunk at room temperature. cheers brando
  10. No shit, Sherlock? Truth is, we own you ...that's all you need to know.
  11. 2 sugars and just a splash of cow-juice for me, please! B
  12. The motherboard you are looking at is not really a good deal. It has Intel, built-in graphics which are of no use to you. It does have PCI-Express x16 slots, so you will be able to run modern graphics card(s) but a SATA 3 rating would be useful if you decide to buy into the modern SSD culture. Take a look at your existing system and take note of its full specs, and post them up. Motherboard model number, so that its size will be revealed, ie ATX, or micro ATX. Graphics card model and so on. You might have an AGP card instead of a PCI-E type. Run a DXDIAG and post the text file, too.
  13. I do it regularly, with my one hand, and, yes, it's pretty easy as far as the physical side is concerned. However, if you plan to use your old gear, esp. hard-drive, without either formatting and re-installing Windows, or removing all product drivers before the installation, you may run into some trouble.
  14. Anyone who is lame enough to get his face on the front of the Sunday Sport deserves his lot.
  15. I don't know, but you surely could moon a load of people from there
  16. I'm glad I made you laugh, BA, 'cos I'm not coming from a place of hatred or blind rage - you know me I guess my message is "wake up and smell the manure", because historical accuracy is being sacrificed already, in favour of maximising income. And I realise that's a good thing if it means a good sim would be forthcoming - but I'm not sure that BoS will achieve that status. To me the ditching of co-op play is like the old saying about "throwing the baby out with the bathwater" Co-op is a format that works very well both at squad level or for random 'Hyperlobby hitch-hiking'. It brings individuals into line with a simple formula. Choose your plane, join a flight, carry out your objectives, make it home. I hear the negatives - "long time to form up, crashes on take-off, host loses connection, et cetera - and I wish they had grasped the nettle and sorted the problems rather than doing a hot potato job. As mentioned, the FMB as in RoF is very unwieldy to use. Maybe that is OK for the WW1 period where radio comm was virtually non-existent - but I don't think it will work for WW2 Squad ops. Anyway, enough playing devil's advocate for today cyl mates
  17. If you can detect the drives in Windows and BIOS then it should be possible to isolate the C drive's location from the SATA listings. You would need to consult the motherboard manual to see the layout of the SATA outlets, then consult the listings to find the outlet. The main drive's cable is usually plugged to the SATA 0 outlet but consulting the BIOS listings will clarify that.. B
  18. I got a flashy box and a piece of cheap cotton with a "map" printed on it, an aircraft manual (not!), and a game that basically didn't work, then or ever. I paid nearly £50 quid for it - in a spirit of support for the guys who had set the whole IL-2 series in motion - and got zip, nada, sweet FA. They didn't actually post me a turd, but the smell of bull's droppings still lingers. Not dissing the supporters - but I won't be fronting up any more money in that direction. brando
  19. A delightful bargain for £7.76GBP Thanks Snacko! I already use True Image, so it's great to complete the set...... B
  20. YEAH! (I've been using my CH TQ a lot more recently since I gave up flying IL2. RoF and its 'no limit' on input devices has won me over ) I reckon you must be giving DCS and LockOn a fair hammering? Beautiful cockpit m8, well done! B
  21. The good news is that a British hi-tech agricultural company has managed to grow dildos for the first time ever! The bad news is that their test field has been occupied by squatters . . . . where's my coat?
  22. I was reading about this young man just a few minutes before I looked in here. I'll own to mixed feelings of sadness and admiration, par for the course I guess.
