1. DDz Quorum Painless Posted June 11, 2012 1. DDz Quorum Posted June 11, 2012 ~S~ Chaps, Superb selection of clips! I loved watching the pilot of the "fw190" check out his clean, (with a bit of flap) and fully dirty stall speeds. Thanks for sharing. ~S~ P. Quote
DD_Arthur Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Kermit Weeks takes his latest acquisition for a spin. Curtiss Pusher replica with what looks like a Rotax engine. Interesting comments at the end about it's flight characteristics! Quote

2. Administrators Jabo Posted July 9, 2012 2. Administrators Posted July 9, 2012 Lol, hasn't really got Scaled Composites written all over that design has it? One look at it tells you whose pencil that came from. Awesome machine(s) Jabo Quote
BluBear Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 Not an aeroplane yet... but, a milestone for sure! Possibly the first running of a Yak 1 Klimov V12 since the war. This engine is earmarked to power the original Yak 1 one being restored over here by the Historic Aircraft Collection/Retrotec. Would love to hear this in the flesh! Quote
2. Administrators Jabo Posted July 22, 2012 2. Administrators Posted July 22, 2012 Wow, that's highly cool. Why do all the Russian engines sound so...well...agricultural? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
Streak Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Makes me think of cabbage.........and shooting 109's! Quote
BluBear Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Ok so we had the P-40 in NZ firing blanks... So how about this guys, P-51 Twilight Tear firing her .50s LIVE on a range! OH YEAH! http://www.facebook....&type=2 It's only on FB, so you may need to be logged in, not sure. Quote
Sweper Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Nice one BB. (I was able to watch it even though I don´t have FB). Firing the guns made this beautiful P-51 (BBD look alike) rock even though it was strapped. Wonder how it would behave in the air. Quote
2. Administrators Jabo Posted August 4, 2012 2. Administrators Posted August 4, 2012 Wow, That's pretty darn neat. Jabo Quote

BluBear Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 The one and only Kermit Weeks taking his Curtis Pusher repro up for a test flight. Now this is flying! Quote
SkyPup Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 OK, it's modern jets and the music is horrible, but the flying is nice so check this out! http://player.vimeo.com/video/40935850 Quote

DD_Arthur Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Ooops.....another one I've pinched from the Banana forums but oo-er missus!!! Serious buttock-clenching is to be found at the two minute mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=hrziTee4b2c What is it about South Africans and big planes? Not too long ago I was at Yeovilton Airday and a SAA 747 did a flyby ten minute display where the pilot threw this enormous machine around at low level, flaps down, 60 degrees of bank, no worries. He was positively Korean. Quote
DD_Arthur Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 The good news; Kermit Weeks has got himself one of those Go-Pro head cam thingies a la' Bongodriver. So this is the Curtiss Pusher from the business side. Rather like a flying Combine! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XAlju9EXTw8 and here's his rather gorgeous DVa from the cockpit. First thing that struck me was what a good job RoF has done with the cockpit of their model. Quote
BluBear Posted September 19, 2012 Author Posted September 19, 2012 Great vids Arthur! That SA one is incredible! Some of you may know that down in NZ they have a Mosquito very close to flying (scheduled for the end of this month!) Here is the first glimpse of her 'coming alive' Pics here: http://rnzaf.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Airshows&thread=16707&page=21 Quote
