1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted December 29, 2014 Author 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted December 29, 2014 Yeah, I did not make the effort to set them up on the bridge and all just for the pictures.... but the idea is clear: The scenery of the bridge's city side will be the filming of a scene of the movie 'A Bridge Too Far' Used this picture of the actual situation back in '76 for inspiration:

1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted December 30, 2014 Author 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted December 30, 2014 Oops... In trying to 'optimize' the power supply of the 14 Leds along the arc... I managed to burn half of them... that stinks! And the other half produces less light.... So, ripped them all off.... Oh well...
1. DDz Quorum Painless Posted December 31, 2014 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted December 31, 2014 Sorry to hear about the lights FT, perhaps you could fashion a series of miniature tungsten filaments to emit a period glow ?....or not ? Happy model building in 2015 m8 ; ) Mick.
2. Administrators Jabo Posted January 1, 2015 2. Administrators Share Posted January 1, 2015 "Optimise" - oh yeah - been there, done that. Never mind FT. Hopefully you haven't scorched the paintwork?
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted January 1, 2015 Author 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 1, 2015 It needed a bit of touching up, not caused by the heat, but by me ripping the LED's off
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted January 3, 2015 Author 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 3, 2015 More cars arrived at the bridge today... it's gonna be a massive traffic jam in the end... These are mighty fine detailed models ... Oh, and, I did get my hands on a new set of a 16 LED-String More cars are on their way.... Quiz time comin' ... 1. DDz Quorum Friar Posted January 3, 2015 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 3, 2015 FT, would it not be better to have the traffic BEHIND the camera car to avoid it being in shot?
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted January 3, 2015 Author 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 3, 2015 FT, would it not be better to have the traffic BEHIND the camera car to avoid it being in shot? Yes but, No but, ... No problem, I've asked, and they said "That'll easily be buffed out later" .... And, yes, well, behind the camera, there's no bridge no more... And if I face the camera the other way, there'll be noting to film!

Funflak
Truly a work art FT! The use of American vehicles, including the 58 Chevy Impala is cool. I hope everyone in town that sees it appreciates all the work you put into the model and its history. You are probably educating a new generation that probably has no clue of the historical importance the bridge represents.
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted January 27, 2015 Author 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 27, 2015 Look, the car collection is nearing completion, I found a bus! Was a bit of a gamble, as the scale was not mentioned on the box... Looks okay to me though... Here's some more cars I got recently, all from the Internet shopping, except for the Bus that is... Quiz time, as who recognizes the two really famous cars here? And also, once again apart from the Bus, guess make and model of 'm all... winner gets.... the honour of winning
2. Administrators Jabo Posted January 27, 2015 2. Administrators Share Posted January 27, 2015 Just a guess really, Is the Ferrari the 1962 250 GT SWB California Spyder?

DD_Arthur
Does the Ferrari have something to do with either Steve McQueen or Ferris Bueller and his day off? As to the other; is that the er....Plymouth whateveritwas from Stephen King's novel "Christine" OR is the burgundy pick up the same model Rutger Hauer drove in "The Hitcher"?
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted January 27, 2015 Author 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 27, 2015 You got it Arthur, Ferris' Ferrari indeed, and the 1958 Plymouth Fury. The Dodge pickup is a 2014 model, so I don't think Rutger hitched in it ...

DD_Arthur
Are there lots of big American motors in the Netherlands, FT? Shouldn't you have a few more 2CV's?
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted January 29, 2015 Author 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 29, 2015 lol... yeah... well, it's just the scale... 1/64th is popular in the USA, not so much over here I can get me a Renault 4, even in Dutch 'Wegenwacht' - AAA road service (?) but for a price I can get me three American models, or a truck... And basically, that 50's/60's/70's Mericans are much easier on the eye... (Oh man, look at this entire thread, and think about it a bit, can't you tell I've completely lost it? I really do not know what I am doin', isn't that obvious? There's no reason here, there's no logic!)
