    Control Tower

From the album: Where I work

Taken in April, restoration work has since commenced
  2. Good for you Colin! What an experience. 'CDC is the oldest flying Tiger Moth and you were taken up by one of the true characters of the airshow/aviation world. My mum and dad both had the same pleasure as yourself some years ago. I only live a few miles up the road from Headcorn, and was out cycling yesterday afternoon near Ulcombe and 'CDC flew overhead, I wonder if it was you?! If I had know you were there I would have cycled down to watch
  3. wish i had time for computer games - sheesh!

  4. I would just like to echo the sentiments of the other guys Zooly. It won't be quite the same without you old chap. I too hope things improve for you as soon as possible. All the best mate.
  5. A lot of these i've never seen before. Quite a collection! http://www.flickr.com/photos/8270787%40N07/sets/72157605269786717/show/
  6. Looks great mate - i'm rather jealous! You want to hurry up and get some RAF in there though, it's overrun by the boche!
  7. Looks like it needs filling with a large quantity of Dogzfood. Shall I plaice the order now Nick?
  8. Welcome welcome welcome! It's fun here, you'll like it! Fun fun fun fun fun fun fun fun fun. (Uncle Rog, can I have my pills now?...) In all seriousness though, congratulations, you've just joined the best squad on earth! Look forward to flying with ya
  9. Not sure if this has been posted before... One of the P-40's in NZ has fully functioning .50 cals installed and occasionally undertakes live (blank) firing. I would rather like to see this in the flesh! Somehow though, I think it'll cost me a ticket to New Zealand, because it'll never happen over here in blighty! Some pictures here: http://warbirdinform...php?f=3&t=45383 Annoyingly it won't let me reply with 3 videos... You can find the airborne live fire here: And some static videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qmln5aChX0s&feature=related
  10. The most they do in TGIs down here is ring a bloody bell. Gets on your tits when you're trying to tuck into a loaded potato skin *CLANG*
  11. The accompanying text is a bit misleading, this is after all a Flug Werke replica (incorporating some original parts)... BUT, it's still awesome! As anyone who saw the one fly at Duxford a couple of years ago will testify. Nice find Kev.
  12. SNAFU FLIES!!! Vid here: http://friends-of-tfc.blogspot.co.uk/ Pics here: http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?p=1881375#post1881375
  13. Mick The only currently airworthy MkII is the BBMF example IIRC. There are now three MkI's though, which is jolly nice!
  14. Only just seen this! I'd love to if I can get the day off (shouldn't be a problem).
  15. Just read that he's been killed in a takeoff accident in a Bearcat. http://www.kwes.com/story/17335559/west-texas-pilot-killed-shortly-after-takeoff If you don't know his name, those of us that have attended warbird airshows over the years both sides of the pond, would probably have seen this guy fly. He would almost always be over to pilot for Flying Legends like many other US warbird pilots drawn to Duxford in July. He'd usually be found flying one of the 'cats, and is probably best associated with the Wildcat. Sad times.
  16. I'm sorry, but this video personally offends me... Because I wish i'd thought of it first! hahaha, nice find
  17. Fantastic ROX! I've been a stargazer since early childhood, long night walks in the dark Irish countryside with the FamilyBear started it all off. Keep it up mate, I look forward to seeing more pictures of the wonders above.
  18. And back to aeroplanes... Wtf! http://www.liveleak....=fc6_1333070537 And wow! http://www.liveleak....=ca3_1333098616
  19. I saw this on TV this weekend here in blighty and it was the first time in many years that I sat silenced by an advert. In fact it gave me shivers, I was watching with a friend at the time and we both just looked at each other and said 'wow'. Superbly produced: The blurb: "Jack Jennings is a Far East war veteran who received funding through BIG's Heroes Return programme. 93 year old Jack provides inspiration for a high profile TV campaign across the UK launching on prime time television on Sunday 4 March. http://www.biglotter...eroesreturn.htm"
  20. Wow! Tremendous job Mick me ole cobber! Loving the detail and weathering, it's a cracker. Not sure if i'd ever have the patience for this!
  21. Stop teasing Nick! Finish it and take some juicy pictures for us all to salivate over
  22. Double ooops, so did I! Hopefully your respective days were more than adequate!
  23. I would have chosen the same! Hen and the Hob, two perfectly acceptable choices of beverage.
