  1. Chaps, rather than posting a thread for every nice aeroplane video we find, how about we just keep them in here for all to see and anyone can add to it if and when they find something of interest? I'll start off proceedings with this rather lovely example of why I freaking love Mustangs!
  2. is about to jump in Blenheim for a FAMEX. Then maybe a Gladrag. Need to prepare to show those greasy eye-ties who's boss ;-)

  3. Happy Birthday OT! Hope you have a great day mate.
  4. Happy Turkey day you chaps! And to all us Brits/Swedes/Dutch etc Happy Thursday!!
  5. Found this posted at the key forums. The caption reads: " I was throwing stuff out of my office and found a old school Hi8 video tape... I dusted off a player and plugged it in. I was surprised to find the audio transmissions between myself and the USAF demo guys when my old Sabre was hit by a pyro explosion at an air show." - Ed Shipley (Well known US warbird pilot, part of the Horsemen team) It really shows, it's sometimes a matter of not what you know, but who you know! FYI: Dale 'Snort' Snodgrass is one of the most experienced Sabre pilots around. http://www.airshowbuzz.com/sabre/go/gallery/item/1484797?type=video
  6. Fantastic timelapse video showing the construction of a replica N.28 from a box of bits to engine runs.
  7. Just a shout out to say, i'm still here. Had some RL stuff to sort out, getting through it now and will be back on asap.

  8. I'll be getting it for sure. But on PS3. My PC is too decrepit!
  9. Very nice mate! Similar to what I recently spec'd up. May I ask what your total spend was?
  10. Another great video from the EAA website. "Jim Cooper talks about the restoration of the only flying Seafire Mk.15 and the role it played in World War II. He also demonstrates how the wings fold and how the tail hook worked." Click Here

  13. Thanks Streak, i'll check it out. This is the first time I've been made aware of the 'painting with light' method. It certainly produces some stunning compositions.
  14. Saw this over on the Flypast forums: Painting with light. This guy has a huge amount of patience, fantastic work.
  15. You chaps may want to have a look at this website:
  16. From the TFC Blog: Finally!!! :thumbsu: :goodjob:
  17. Shame you couldn't make it FlyBoy, it was a great show and the weather was very kind to us.Thanks again Jabo, Fruitbat and Fenrir for your company. Bring on the 2012 season!

  19. As the event is now only days away, on request of the 'Event Liason Officer' I am hearby bumping this thread for an updated head count! So, who's in?
  20. From this year: Click here for video
  21. Prolly a licence-built Allison Kidding aside, I agree that one of a kind is very special - to the point of being unique... I'll get my coat. Jabo Actually I'm led to believe it is in fact an original (reconditioned of course) AM-38. Check the video again and you'll notice the cowlings all seem accurate to the type, plus the tell tale sign is the rotation of the propeller which is the opposite to an Allison. I stand corrected, it is indeed Allison powered, and must have an opposite handed gearbox from a P-38 or summat. Whatever, it's a beauty! It was restored in the same facility that recently brought the Mig-3 back to life and rumour has it that the IL-2 is set to join the Fw-190 at the Flying Heritage Collection stateside.
  22. Well, I never thought this would actually happen, but some clever chaps in Russia have restored one of our beloved IL-2s to airworthy. This is quite a momentous moment for warbird preservation, up there with the recent (real) Fw-190 resto. Crazy to think that this is the only flying example of one of the most produced aircraft in history.
