Hi chaps, Who would be interested in going to the Shoreham Airshow this year? It's held on the 1st-2nd Sept. I've been going for a few years now and it's rather enjoyable. However, I understand due to it's location (south coast) it may only appeal to us southerners. The line up this year looks good (Vulcan, huzzah!): Panavia Tornado GR4 x 2 - XV® Squadron BAE Systems Hawk T1 - 208® Squadron, No 4FTS Shorts Tucano T1 - 72® Squadron, No 1FTS (SUNDAY ONLY) Beechcraft King Air B200 - 45® Squadron, No 3FTS Grob Tutor T1 - 115® Squadron, No 1EFTS Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - Avro Lancaster B1 Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - Supermarine Spitfire Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - Hawker Hurricane IIc RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team, No 1PTS (SATURDAY ONLY) Fairey Swordfish II - Royal Navy Historic Flight Red Devils Parachute Display Team, Parachute Regiment (SUNDAY ONLY) Avro Vulcan B.Mk.2 XH558 - Vulcan to the Sky BAC Jet Provost T5 - XW324 - Heritage Aviation Scottish Aviation Bulldog T1 - Justyn Gorman/Phoenix Flying The Red Sparrows - De Havilland Canada Chipmunk T10 x 4 Supermarine Spitfire Ia P9374- Mark One Partners/ARCo Supermarine Spitfire Vb BM597- Historic Aircraft Collection Supermarine Spitfire LFIXb MH434 - Old Flying Machine Company Supermarine Spitfire IXT PV202 - Aircraft Restoration Company Hawker Hurricane XII Z5140 - Historic Aircraft Collection Hawker Hurricane IIb BE505 - Hangar 11 Hispano HA1112-M1L Buchon G-BWUE - Aircraft Restoration Company Bucker Bu181 Bestmann Mk6 G-TPWX - Swanborough Farm Messerchmitt Bf108 Taifun (Nord 1002)G-ETME - Vintage Fabrics North American P-51D Mustang 44-73149 - Old Flying Machine Company North American P-51D Mustang 44-72035 - Hangar 11 Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress Sally-B - B-17 Preservation Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina - Plane Sailing Great War Display Team - RAF SE5a x 4 Great War Display Team - Sopwith Triplane Great War Display Team - Fokker Dr1 Triplane Great War Display Team - Junkers CL1 x 2 American Champion Decathlon - Justyn Gorman/Phoenix Flying The Blades - Extra 300LP x 4 Breitling Wingwalkers - Boeing Stearman x 4 SWIP Team - Silence SA1100 Twister x 2 GliderFX - MDM-1 Fox GliderFX - Piper PA25 Pawnee TRIG Aerobatic Team - Pitts S-1D Special x 2 The Matadors - Xtreme Air Sbach XA41 x 2 The Redhawks - Fournier RF4D x 2 The Tiger 9 - De Havilland DH82a Tiger Moth x 9 I probably won't commit to one day until i've got a clearer idea on the weather situation! Not an aeroplane yet... but, a milestone for sure! Possibly the first running of a Yak 1 Klimov V12 since the war. This engine is earmarked to power the original Yak 1 one being restored over here by the Historic Aircraft Collection/Retrotec. Would love to hear this in the flesh!

Not his best IMO. The one around the banked circuit is my fave. Number 3, I think? Still bloody impressive though!

Thanks chaps, really appreciate the advice! I've done another basket. Not so sure about full recovery. Poor lass has lost her right eye and has severe head and facial injuries.

So chaps, here's my updated spec! The mobo comes with 2 sata cables and i already have a mouse/keyboard and DVD-RW drive. Are there any components that you know have better/cheaper alternatives, or is this a decent marriage of parts? I'm so out of the loop these days. Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz Socket 1155 6MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor £171.62 Asus P8Z68-V LX Socket 1155 Onboard graphics output 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard £87.99 Coolermaster Centurion 5 II SPECIAL EDITION Case with Red Interior - With Coolermaster 650W GX PSU£89.99 Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz CL9 1.5V Non-ECC Unbuffered £80.43 Crucial 64GB M4 SSD - 2.5" SATA-III - Read 500MB/s Write 95MB/s - 3 Year Warranty £58.00 Seagate 1TB Barracuda 3.5" SATA-III Hard Drive - 7200RPM 64MB Cache £69.99 LG IPS235V IPS LCD LED 23" HDMI Monitor £129.99 Xenta DVI-D Dual Link Black Replacement Cable - 3 Metre £4.38 Cart total inc vat: £692.39 It's got me a little excited that I could have a pretty darn good new rig for well under a grand. Didn't think it was possible to be honest!

Haha, fair enough!

So perhaps stick with the 2500K then? To throw another thing out there. I feel as a current AMD user, it would be wrong of me to perhaps consider their options... Fen has the X4 and loves it. I've just seen this, it's quite a bit cheaper than the i5, is it worth entertaining at all? http://www.ebuyer.com/186428-amd-phenom-ii-x4-965-black-edition-3-4ghz-socket-am3-6mb-l3-hdz965fbgmbox

Thanks chaps, you're awesome.

Yes Jedi, all i've ever heard is good things about the 2500K and up until now that was probably my first choice, but it's this that has got me interested: i5 3570K for only £8 more > http://www.ebuyer.co...-bx80637i53570k

Oh yes, thanks Kev. What do you reckon on the newer i5?

Hi chaps! Spurred on by a great weekend at Duxford and rather missing my flying with the Dogz I am once again giving some serious thought into building a new rig. With just 5 mins at ebuyer, i've come up with the following list as a guide to my requirements/budget. If you guys could steer me towards better combinations of parts or better deals or any thing at all that would really help. GFX will be courtesy of Fruitbat/Fenrir in the way of a 280 I believe, until I have some more cash to throw at a new card! Should I go for a SSD drive for OS/applications straight off? I see there is now a i5 3570K for only £8 more, would it be better? > http://www.ebuyer.co...-bx80637i53570k Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz Socket 1155 6MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor £171.62 Asus P8Z68-V LX Socket 1155 Onboard graphics output 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard £87.99 Coolermaster Silencio 550 with GX 550W PSU £102.87 Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz CL9 1.5V Non-ECC Unbuffered £80.09 Seagate 1TB Barracuda 3.5" SATA-III Hard Drive - 7200RPM 64MB Cache £62.99 Crucial 64GB M4 SSD - 2.5" SATA-III - Read 500MB/s Write 95MB/s - 3 Year Warranty £58.00 LG IPS235V IPS LCD LED 23" HDMI Monitor £134.99 HDMI Cable 1.4 Black 2 Metre £4.99 Cart total inc vat: £703.54

I couldn't care less if he was French, Lebanese, Martian or Lesbian. I just hope he learns to shut up a bit more this year!
