  1. Gonna have to miss Cosford, but I'm up for Fairford if you're interested (week after Legends) Jabo
  2. Oh bugger, knew there was something I was supposed to do... OK, the good news is the new artwork is done, and here's the proof. Bear in mind that the full size image is larger than actual size (about 55mm from top of logo to bottom). The 'DangerDogz' in the arc above the logo has been dropped since I felt we had the same text twice. I've had a shirt made up using the new artwork (I'm really sorry for the quality of the photos here, but i'm lacking the inclination to do anything about it right now) This is a plain black t-shirt with the embroidered logo on the front and the usual text on the back. I'm having this redone with the font on the back changed to be similar to the polos. SO, the situation is; 1. If you want an embroidered shirt, let me know what size, style and colour of shirt you want as well as any specifics regarding printing (ie, Med, Polo, Pink, no back print).I'll also need your address to get postage costs. Shirts to UK dogz should be about £15-£16 including postage Regarding payment, I suggest we use the DDz paypal account and I'll get Rog to transfer the appropriate funds to me. (This has to be finalised yet) 2. The standard white polo is still available from the original supplier if you prefer (they're about £11 for the shirt, not sure about postage) Caps, Beanies, Jackets etc are all available too. Caps and Beanies are £6 each with embroidered logo on front. Caps can also have text on back or sides (transfer not embroidery) I'm also having a flight jacket made up with a BIG embroidered logo on the back and just my callsign embroidered on the front - This will come in at about £40 and is showerproof - very useful for Duxford lol. I know Painless wants a cap, but anybody else? Jabo

    One For The Techies

I've taken leaves from everybody's books and tried various ways to resolve this issue, ending up with some alledged registry 'fix' (for 'fix' read 'bodge') which did nothing apart from f**k the OS completely, and delete my recovery image (lord knows how) and therefore I've had to Quazi anyway. I''ve now got a vanilla 7 x64 install onto which I'm installing Office (again). I'll let you know how I get on. It means I probably won't be flying tonight, but I need this working. Thanks for the advice all. Jabo EDIT: And now Office works! YAY! FWIW, I think Gec's point about there being something left behind that was preventing a proper uninstall may well be right. All I changed was to use the custom install option and set everything to run from the PC (which I've never had to do before and hey presto!) Time to break out True Image and create a backup I think

    One For The Techies

Nope, not a fix in this case, I have the only account on this machine, I am the only one who uses said account, and the account is an 'administrator' account. The fix FT has found is for non-admin accounts. Besides, I'm using 7 x64 not Vista. Oh, and Office used to work before I Quazi'd the PC recently, I haven't changed the permissions either. Besides, I have a concern that this fix effectively removes the UAC which (in 7 at least) seems to work without the problems it caused in Vista. Sorry Perf and Shadrach, I'm afraid I can't agree. Like it or not, Office is the global standard, and for the most part works fine. OpenOffice (at least the last time I checked) doesn't support the current Office file extensions, only .doc, .xls etc. Each to their own, but I'll be sticking with Office at least until I'm convinced it won't work anymore. Jabo P.S. Throwing caution to the winds, I tried the fix anyway - sadly it would appear that my fears were confirmed - not a fix for 7 - booo
  7. Here's an interesting one for the techies to puzzle over. I'm off to bed having given up... When I install my copy of Office 2007 H&S, it installs OK, but when I try to open one of the applications, I get a warning box stating 'Office is not installed for this user'. Erm WTF? I'm out of ideas after installing and uninstalling most of the evening. I could do with being able to use Word though as I've some stuff to write and Notepad just doesn't do it for me. Any ideas? Jabo
  8. Ahh.. there is a Win 7 patch. Didn't see that when I downloaded it I'm with you on the irritation, although this is light relief for me compared to the pig's ear I made of these boards I downloaded Nero trial (I have an old license kicking around somewhere) but couldn't get it to work with Irfanview - then I saw Jabo's post above...so yeah I'd give it a go mate! Yeah, it's quite a big patch (coupla hundred meg), so they've made signiifcant changes to the s/w in the wake of 7 being released. Bear in mind FB that if you d/l the software now, you'll prolly get Nero 9 Reloaded which already has the patch on board - makes life easier maybe. Jabo
  9. Yep Rog. Using Nero 9 with the Win 7 compatibility patch, I've got no problems burning video to DVD, but I've not tried burning a slideshow to disc. I suspect it's not dissimilar. Jabo
  10. You're not using RW disks are you m8? Most DVD players can't read them Jabo

    Nvidia Control Panel

Good news m8. I take it you've solved your SLI+Win7 problems then? Jabo
  12. I'll look out for that when I'm on my weekly book trawl next weekend - thanks for the intel m8! Jabo
  13. No m8, in this case I was just too impatient. The photos loaded a few seconds after I made my post - You will see it's now different. Jabo
  14. Ain't it? Dangerous work, but what a rush. Jabo
  15. Yep, liking Win 7 A LOT. Jabo

    Wow Lil Odd

At least you won't get carded now m8. LOL Jabo
  17. Some great shots coming through at the moment - Like the ones of Goose's P38 and Sid's 109 - the lighting is great! Going to check that smoke mod out as well. Jabo
  18. Nice work Swep, great photos too as always! Jabo
  19. O M G. EADS Messerschmitt Bf109 visitng UK this summer! For the first time the Messerschmitt Foundation will be sending one of it's Bf109G's to the UK during the summer and there is a chance it will appear at Duxford! It's definitely (barring u/s problems) flying in the RIAT show at Fairford the following weekend, so it could well be doing both shows. On a related(ish) note the USAF will be sending the 3-ship F-22 Raptor Demo Team to Fairford as well! That's sorted the w/e following Duxford anyway. I've never seen a 'proper' 109 in flight (the Buchon doesn't count), so I'm very excited about this. Jabo
  20. Interesting about that 100MB partition Rog. Of course, I am using Ultimate and BitLocker so...Now I've looked more closely at the Disk Management plugin, the 100MB partition is missing 'cos I have a 50GB XP partition at the front of the disk. So I'm obviously talking rubbish - but it is 2:45 here. Amen to the 'Once burnt' too. Jabo
  21. Niiiiice. Thanks Rog! Good photo too. Yours? Jabo Niiiiice. Thanks Rog! Good photo too. Yours? Jabo P.S. Can't have been Duxford, the sun's out!
  22. Although these things are great in principle, unless you have a good upstream connection, upload times tend to be prohibitive. I've tried a couple of alternative services to the ones mentioned before, and always given up before having much more than a fraction uploaded. Eight hours per 500MB equals about 1600 hours (66 days - continuous) for the photos, another 1600 for the music - compared to four hours for copying the whole shooting match to an external HDD with encryption and then an hour across Coventry to drop it off in my mates fire safe and have a quick coffee. Another four hours to make a local copy and voila. I'd definitely run Speedtest to get an idea of how long it'll take to transfer your 30GB Col, I'm moving a lot more data, but 30GB uploaded is still quite a lot. Hmm, I'm not on a downer over the whole online storage concept, I just feel that if you're storing a lot, multiple local copies are a better bet. Jabo
  23. I like the G15, and I like the TS3 plugin, but if you didn't want to shell out £80+ for a keyboard, Colin's solution would be the way to go. It looks good, is easy to use and is relatively cheap. Jabo
  24. You definitely need that little 100MB partition m8. I wonder if yours went AWOL when you were swapping the drives about? I used to do the same as Rog, and only have the OS drive connected when reinstalling the OS, but since using Acronis, I've been leaving all the drives in situ (except my external 'last ditch' backup drive - just in case ) - seems to work OK. One thing I have noticed though is that the drive letters do swap about depending on which OS I'm booting to (XP, 7, ubuntu), so I've taken the precaution of individually naming all the partitions so I know which drive is which regardless of the drive letter.
