1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted July 12, 2011 1. DDz Quorum Posted July 12, 2011 Got home 'round 11 am today. Once again a quiet and smooth sailing it was. (The ferry crossing I mean.) The rest was all smooth, yet not so quiet... Thanks all for making it such a great event! Very good to meet mates met before, and even better to also meet mates not met before! Brilliant to be back to driving on the right side of the roads! Already started editing the video recordings! Finally getting the hang of it now: - Friday: Visit Flying Legends and have a look see... - Saturday: Visit Flying Legens and tape it to video - Sunday: Visit Flying Legends and watch the show. And in between those: DEBBS : (Dogz Eat, Banter, Beer & Sleep) Next time I might try a different ways of travel, as it felt a bit silly to arrive in Harwich at 11:15 AM, having to wait 'till 7:30 PM to check in and board the ferry Oh well! 2. Administrators Jabo Posted July 12, 2011 Author 2. Administrators Posted July 12, 2011 Welcome Valisk - Despite the fact that this was our fourth or fifth year at Legends, it's the first time we've been up at the Tank Bank but based on what we've seen this year, I doubt it'll be the last. 1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted July 12, 2011 1. DDz Quorum Posted July 12, 2011 Some piccies, resized this time, I hope in an acceptable resolution... Thursday: Friday: (What's this 'Gallery' thing? ) Quote
2. Administrators Jabo Posted July 12, 2011 Author 2. Administrators Posted July 12, 2011 Incidentally, if anyone wants the full-size image of any of my photos for backgrounds etc, I'll be happy to pass a copy on. Friar's already asked for one, so it's no problem to do others. Jabo Quote
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted July 12, 2011 1. DDz Quorum Posted July 12, 2011 Saturday: At the show: (That's all I got from the Saturday's show... the rest's moving images) Prepared for dinner: Now here's a set of pics that just scream for some captioning: Waiting for a Cab to take use hote. ('hote' is a relatively new term, it means 'Home to our Hotel' Quote
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted July 12, 2011 1. DDz Quorum Posted July 12, 2011 Sunday, at the show: Looked and sounded a lót like AAA whenever an aircraft came buzzing along... It's Mick that wanted me to take a picture of the clouds, I haven't a clue why though.... As this was blurred, I cut off the public at the bottom... and greyed the thing... nifty stuff, computers and image editing Now you see, that Swordfish is só friggin' slow, it's hard to catch it .... 1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted July 12, 2011 1. DDz Quorum Posted July 12, 2011 @ Nick: Great stuff! Specifically how you've summed it all up, chronologically... Here's an idea, as I'm possibly/probably creating yet another DVD-Video, what if we just add your beautiful photo set to it? As a slide show? Oh, and +1 and then x100 on the image you commented with "I'm pretty pleased with this one..." Jeez, that's perfection! @Swep: I'm happy you did not state "I was never tired" 'cos that would have been an outright lie! (I'm having a heck of a challenge to make the movies correspond with your statements though! ) Quote
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted July 12, 2011 1. DDz Quorum Posted July 12, 2011 Monday: View out of the Hotel room in Cambridge, view to the river Cam (Yes, the river is named 'Cam', and so you could say my Fuji FinePix f31d acted as a rivercam for a moment there... ) Now this is just silly, my hut cabin at the 'Stena Hollandica' Look closely, there's four beds, and one of 'm is a double bed! Choices... choices... choices... Quote

BluBear Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Great pics and vids chaps! And what a bloody marvellous weekend it was!!! Really great to finally put faces to voices/names, feels like i've known you all for years. You're all mad, it's brilliant! The airshow in fact seemed like a bonus, here's to the DangerDogz! Quote
JensenPark Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 did you guys venture down to the Red Lion by any chance? How was the commute from new hotel to the big show? Looking forward to next year. Quote
BluBear Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Unfortunately not. Well I saw unfortunately... but to me the Red Lion isn't all that appealing now. With that bloody great monstrosity of a hotel in the back garden and now they are extending the pub itself, it's lost it's charm IMHO. We did however find a good curry house and order some tasty fish and chips to eat in the beer garden of a student pub! Commute to the show was simples, straight in both days after about 20-30 mins drive. Quote
rox Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Helluva fun weekend, awesome flying things and scarry drunk people. The sheep in Wales were the best though. I'm now at Kev's, gonna do Kent tomorrow and go home on thursday. Favorite quote While we were in the pub on Saturday trying for around 30 minutes to sort out what we were going to eat, drinking, collecting individual orders, drinking, changing our minds on what type of food to have, drinking some more, collecting individual orders, drinking, revising individual orders, then just settling for 14 x cod and chips............CRASH looked up and said...."you couldn't write this shit!" Haha, my favorite is also from Crash actually. After all the late night carnage in the hotel lobby on saturday, Kev and I called it, and as we exited the lift to go to our room we ran into a fairly drunk Crash looking lost on the hallway and ashing where Bluebear was. When I answered that Bluebear said that he was going to take a shit, Crash replied: "Um...is this a take a shit and go to sleep thing?". I think I woke the whole floor up laughing. Quote
JensenPark Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 I like how you see this beautiful 2 seater silver Audi pull up. You're expecting some hot blond or rock star hedgefund manager to get out. Door opens...and Crash gets out. Quote

I'm looking for the right atmosphere, something that represents what we've been doing there, and how we did it.... am I close already?) Quote

I have a suggestion.............. keep Sid in the background by all means BUT do try and find him a companion that doesn't look quite so much like an Orangutan !! BTW your "Horsemen" video is excellent ! I like the part where we hear you say "OH CRAP !" and at the end, "OH WELL" ~S~ Goodlooksless. Quote
JensenPark Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 oh man, someone is going to think Duxford is about ugly old Brit gits. Quote

BTW your "Horsemen" video is excellent ! I like the part where we hear you say "OH CRAP !" and at the end, "OH WELL" ~S~ Goodlooksless. Thanks Mick! I usually try and edit out my voice as much as possible, as it's way too loud (very close to the microphone), but now that I had put a piece of tape over the microphone to stop the wind from creating noise, the volume was much lower, ánd I thought my words were kinda fitting the images.... , turns out they were! 1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted July 13, 2011 1. DDz Quorum Posted July 13, 2011 Is this better? (Edit: Haven't got a picture of Crash getting out of his car, so this must be it) Quote

T_O_A_D Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 I like the 2nd one, It lends towards the atmosphere of an air show. Everyone is looking up towards the sky ad your thumbnails. Did you make a DVD last year? Quote
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted July 13, 2011 1. DDz Quorum Posted July 13, 2011 Toad, I created two DVD's from last years show.... see here: Duxford 2010 - The Movie(s) Thanks Pooka, had not even noticed that yet! Quote
