  1. Today, finally after months of waiting, I got a notice of operation of my knee. I´m looking forward to have all bits and pieces picked out so I will be able to walk and fly like a Dog again.

You’ve been walking around injured this long???

I hope that they were giving you something decent for your pain.

I also hope your surgery goes well.

Yep, that´s Swedish health care in a nut shell. After a first check at my local doctore, they remitt you to a specialist. After two-three weeks you recive a letter that says you´re not granted to visit this specialist with in about 6 months. Then they ask you if you like another specialist in another part of the country. And so it goes on.

      Six months…that is insane.

What happens if the specialist that they allow you to see is located at a great distance from where you live? You could end up with substantial expenses for transportation, lodging, meals and being off work to get to the city where the approved specialist is located.

I clearly understand your frustration with a system like that. I hope that you were not in too much discomfort while you were waiting and that the surgery goes well.
