2. Administrators Jabo Posted January 13, 2010 2. Administrators Share Posted January 13, 2010 Welcome BSword. RE TIR - have you considered a TrackClip instead of the hat reflectors? I find it's significantly better at the outer edges of the sensor range
BSword
I tried the mic clip but it seemed a lot more erratic than the hat clip, seemed to cut out when I turned my head to the left, and it's heavier.

T_O_A_D
I've never bothered with the lights, I made my reflectors balls, more here http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?q=Y&a=tpc&s=400102&f=49310655&m=15310285&p=
Tonar
I'm with Toad, his reflective balls are great.
Perfesser
I tried the reflective balls at first. They work but are sensitive to changing light conditions in your environment. In a room where the sun shines I was always adjusting the sensitivity and the dreaded stutter/freeze would happen. LED's make it always reliable. A dark basement may not be a problem. You can find foam balls that are a lot lighter than the wooden ones at a craft store and reflective tape can be had at any auto parts store. BSword
Yeah I figured out finally that the erratic movement is due to reflections from my glasses.
Crash
I'll try the mic clip again now that I'm more used to TIR but it seemed like it wouldn't work most of the time if I turned the side of my head I had the clip on slightly away from the TIR. Try moving the camera off to the left. Mine is on a self behind the monitor, about 12" offset and about 3 feet from the headset.
