1. DDz Quorum Sid Posted February 22, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted February 22, 2009 I received a phone call from an aquaintance that flys a Vans RV-6 yesterday asking if I wanted to go flying today (Sunday) - naturally I said yes!! Weather at Staverton, Gloucestershire, was gorgeous Saturday, was nice today but was gusting up to 24 knots northerly crosswind at some of the fields we were looking to fly into -

Blairgowrie
Brings back a lot of memories for me Sid. Looks like you had a great day out. Make sure you save these pictures. For some strange reason I don't have a single photo taken when I was doing all my flying. Just a slightly tattered Log Book is all I have left plus an old expired licence. Rattler
Whilst taxying for takeoff after refreshment a Dornier Skyservant landed...couldn't get a photo. It was Hungarian registered, flown by an Australian and was being used for parachute drops. Looked good and got plenty of admiring comments over RT. Sid to ATC: "I've got a Dornier on my nose, Home Plate. Permission to engage..." ATC: "Um, negative, that's a para-drop plane, mate, and it's friendly...we're calling the police, you loon."
