I received a phone call from an aquaintance that flys a Vans RV-6 yesterday asking if I wanted to go flying today (Sunday) - naturally I said yes!!

Weather at Staverton, Gloucestershire, was gorgeous Saturday, was nice today but was gusting up to 24 knots northerly crosswind at some of the fields we were looking to fly into -

Whilst taxying for takeoff after refreshment a Dornier Skyservant landed...couldn't get a photo. It was Hungarian registered, flown by an Australian and was being used for parachute drops. Looked good and got plenty of admiring comments over RT.

Sid to ATC:

"I've got a Dornier on my nose, Home Plate. Permission to engage..."

ATC:

"Um, negative, that's a para-drop plane, mate, and it's friendly...we're calling the police, you loon."

Thanks for sharing Sid, seeing that Tiger Moth reminded me of my jaunt in one a couple of years back, I swear my ears are still set back from the width of my grin! (it is a Tiger Moth isn't it???
