  1. and he aint working 12 hour nightshifts mate ......... Makes you wonder sometimes who is the idiot , he is raking it in and probably having the time of his life reminds me of the George Best quote "I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered." there are times that has a certain appeal
  2. Here is my latest, the first time I have tried rigging other pictures and links to build here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=75039&st=0#entry823487

    Salute To Bg

S Jim You created a fine group. You opened it up to all and made everyone welcome. There were no airs and graces just good comradeship. Even when I left the group you were always kind and graceous in our correspondance and when talking on air. I regret missing the chance to see you when you visited Scotland but unfortunatly it wasnt to be, Im sure we would have shared a wee dram and had a good craic. Heartfelt best wishes from your old country Dave
  4. here are some quick test results- using black death tracks- vsync on IL2 46 run at 1280* 960 AV 48 min 14 +Gameboost AV 53 min 18 UP3 run at 1280+960 AV 51 min 6 +gameboost AV 51 min 14 CoD run at 1280*1024 AV 25 min 0 +gameboost AV 27 min 2 so a slight improvement in numbers but as I said in the last post the perception while playing the more intense games CoD and RoF is that they are smoother hope this helps
  5. Ill do some real testing later - my machine is Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.110408-1633) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz Memory: 4096MB RAM Available OS Memory: 4094MB RAM Page File: 2100MB used, 6086MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7600.16385 64bit Unicode Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 All I know for definate was that I got micro stutters on CoD and ROF( especially when firing guns) and they were gone last night. I havnt done extensive tests , just one or two flights in each but it was very noticable to me. I havnt had any problems with IL2 for years, I run with vsync on and get steady fps
  6. Picked this tip up from UBI forum and this certainly helps my games , ROF and CoD both run markidly better http://game-booster.en.softonic.com/ I was so impressed I bought the premium version
  7. I have just finished this and would really recommend it- its comming out in paperback soon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gun-Button-Fire-Hurricane-Dramatic/dp/1445605104/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1310981256&sr=1-2 I have read many many autobiographies and this is the best IMHO , great accounts of flying the hurricane and his encounters with the luftwaffe during the BOB.
  8. Is that the new release ? meant to be very good, there are several in build and final kits of this here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?act=idx e.g http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=72529&st=0 http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74149 http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74164 http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74110 great for tips and hints for your build, but be warned some of these guys are every bit as "dedicated" as some of those on the zoo build it for yourself and enjoy it !!!
  9. It depends, small attatchments are usually located in predrilled holes, so a touch of superglue works ok. ( I always apply superglue with a pin on small objects this prevents a gloop going over the model. Drop the superglue onto a pin and then touch this into the hole or onto the peg that you need to join. It also works when using small photoetch parts. ) If you have filled over the holes then redrill these to locate the parts on. If its a larger object e.g. undercarraige doors then clean back the paint to join

    Sad But True..

Very sorry to hear this sad news, my thoughts are with your family
  18. Generally I've been hearing good things about Win7 and it doesn't seem to be possible to hold onto XP with new hardware anymore so I'm off to the brave new world soon. As I recall, CloD wasn't working for you until you did your upgrade from XP, right Dave? Yes, this was the only reason I upgraded, Clod would not run on XP ; but having done so Im happy It took me a while but all my old games, hardware and other programs installed fine remember to save all your savegame or config files from old games, then when you install them into windows 7 you can copy them in and you wont have to start from scratch you are probably aware of this but you should also save your my documents folder to an external drive and any other valuable folders such as photographs then you can copy them into your new install windows does a migration tool, see here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/windows-easy-transfer , I didnt use it as I am dual booting so still have all my old info on an old hard drive on the same computer but it might help you
  19. watch what folders you install programs to or it will nag you to death( think second wife) dont allow them to install into default program files but create new folders e.g. C:/ il246 overall I really like it and I was a XP diehard, I havnt had time to get into the real nuts and bolts of windows7 but it seems stable
