  1. in coops its going to be hard as there are long icons and the defenders know where you are from the brief. so be sneaky either 1) go as fast and as low as you can and try to hit it before they arrive or 2) wait. go a long way round and hopefully the defenders will be busy when you arrive. fly past a grid to the side and check if its hot, if not then make your bomb run, if hot go around and come back in 2 mins with il2 you have to stay low as they are too slow. With others its a good idea to get high. I typically ingress at 6000m, drop to 3000m a grid out, fly past and then turn and drop while heading home. Only make ONE pass as otherwise you will get caught hope this helps

  4. I plan to get a new monitor soon - I currently have a 19" viewsonic and plan to go to 22" but there is a reasonably priced 24" Benq at overclockers.co.uk The only problem is it looks HUGE in photos when sitting next to a 19", has anyone recently moved up from 19" to 22" or 24" and if so what are your impressions/ recommendations my thoughts are LGW2286L LED
  5. I would not trust anything that whitesnake posts. He has made a few posts in the UKDED forums that have been shown to be questionable. He also makes some pretty blanket statements without qualifications or solutions. most of the settings in these sections are determined by your choises when you run il2setup or video options in game and are described here http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Knowledge_Base&op=show&kid=27 IMHO the best place for tech support is mission4today and although some of their guides are old, they should give a sounder base for people to work on e.g. I havnt updated the conf guide for the newer drivers or mods but most of the basics are still there
  6. Sorry to hear of your Dads passing. My thoughts are with you and your family regards Dave
  7. We went to Albufeira on Holiday in 2006 - Lovely place , they were doing up the old town and Id like to go back one day to see it finished s
  8. Iv never used ffb , even on sticks that supported it I turned it off, as I think its far too much in IL2. If my x-45 failed Id probably get a ch fighterstick to try but that looks a nice piece of kit FT !

  12. nope - and our goverment is now trying to sell huge stockpiles as the crises seems to be over. My kids have had the regular injections but this one seemed rushed through with little research and the flu strain was less virulent than origonally thought so we decided to not get it. Its good that our goverment tried its best to ensure we had stocks, one of these pandemics will be bad and how we handled this strain should provide valuable lessons for the future- or am I just too trusting that the powers to be
  13. YEAH - the bloody snows gone - weve had a thaw and its nearly all away. Pretty while it lasted but was getting boring, major roads were ok to drive on but side roads were abandoned so very treacherous, plus a lot of folk have either forgotten or never learnt how to drive in slippery conditions so they hampered things. Lost count of the idiots revving away with wheels spinnning and going nowhere. JP ITs very unusual to have snow and low temps where I live- my town is on a major river and is low lying so hardly gets any .
  14. http://www.clipwings.com/index.php?command=show_video&video_id=846 just in case anyone missed it from a UBIzoo post
  15. If you hit S then you will see who is flying but if there is more than about 30 they dont all fit on the page - does anyone remember the command to see the extra pages? S
  16. see here for an easy way to do it mate - you dont need the bombing table or anything, use the auto drop http://www.dangerdogz.com/forums/index.php/topic,8196.msg70391.html#msg70391 I practice on the okinawa map in QMB , fly with whatever bomber you want , no fighter opposition and try to bomb the parked planes or vehicals on the main enemy airfield on the island. You have to be quick setting up as you are only a grid away- on DF maps I get everything set up at least 2 grids out S
  17. well said Zooly. S
  18. here is mine http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Knowledge_Base&op=show&kid=555 note the low AA and AF settings are for online play, you can increase these for offline if you wish One thing I would recommend is calibrating your monitor after installing any drivers, I find it makes a big difference.
  19. I had trouble getting fsautostart to work properly so thats why I tried this one S
  20. Found this from the zoo http://majorgeeks.com/Game_Booster_d6148.html seems to work nicely , switches off background tasks etc while playing to free up resources. One button switches off then one button resets to normal have only used it a couple of times but no problems and seems to make il2 run a tad faster
  21. Model crazy here - a 1/48th hurricane and 1/48 spit 1 , seasick steve CD and the obligitory chocolat orange well I was good........................................................................................... most of the time
  22. Thanks Guys The house is over 100yrs old, built in the 1890s. It is sandstone exterior with a slate roof . The stain glass is a replacement we put in. It is custom built based on a design on one of the origonal interior doors. We have tried to be sympathetic to the interior and exterior and renovated it back to origonal as far as possible. When it was built the town was a port and timber importer so it was well finished in good timber. It had the most amazing wooden floorboards but we had to cover these due to wanton vandalism when the last owners
  23. the rain has went white :o :o :o :o :o my house
  24. Further to Jabos post HMS Glorious offloaded 18 gladiators, which were stored in crates. When she left she took 3 and 3 were shipped to Egypt which left 12. 6 were constructed , the remaining 6 were used as spares. the pilots were volunteers from those available in the RNAS and RAF on the island as there were no fighter pilots available. They were the sole defense from the 11th of June untill hurricanes arrived and became operational on the 2nd of July 1940 they clained 9 combat victories and 5 damaged. 4 were from pilots flying N5520 Only one was lost in air combat. JP That is the name board taken from the tanker from "Malta the hurricane years" Brave Men S
