  1. Ty guys, we have a hotel and flights booked staying near times square
  2. Anyone been to New York on holiday or perhaps one of our colonials could help - Is DT still around on the forums? anyone got a contact for him? We are going to NY for 6 days next month so any info, hints and tips on places to visit , things to do etc to make it an enjoyable holiday would be appreciated. Particularly interested in good places to eat for the family. Wife , two teenage sons and myself are going.
  3. For some good old fashioned arcade fun at only a couple of quid - Steam have released an updated version of Colin McRae rally . Its a port of the mobile version - not a release of the old PC game but still good fun. The original game is what got me into Subarus and motorsport and a lot of happy hours trying to shave fractions of a second of my best times
  4. Hi mate welcome back
  5. Every year I worry about this target . We have a declining membership , approx 30 active according to the survey, yet are supporting game servers which have very little use even among the dogz. We are fortunate that each year so far we have made the target due to the generosity of some large donations but I think we should think about what we use and what we can afford before next years fees are due and before Rog fronts up the money, because I worry that one year he is going to be left short.
  6. I only use tamiya masking tape, others either allow runs or damage paint when taking off. I also prime the plastic with halfords grey primer prior to painting. This shows areas that need finishing properly, sanding or filling and gives the paint a dece t surface to adhere to. If you have damaged the paint then touch in by drybrushing to fill as needed. Good luck
  7. some nice clips on BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-28276162 SOOOOO LOOOOOOW http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-23296285
  8. patched up - need to sort out my controls now
  9. Id like to see how this has improved ( if any ) and if my machine can run it now so is there an idiots guide to patching somewhere ? It is that long since I flew it that I cant even remember how I installed the mod initially. When I launch the game it says MOD over the gunsight and the version is team fusion v1 3.00 which is a bit old, do I need to incrementally patch up or is there one big mega patch that would save me some effort EDIT - I have found this http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5058&p=52711 which seems to answer my own question but if you have any tips or suggestions to help then Id appreciate it TY Dave

    For Sweper

In the vault in documents I have uploaded 2 files 1 called bombing guides and 1 called deadfalls bombing guide. I use deadfalls method. Hear is the sequence on a bomb run 1.Go to bomber position 2.hit level stabiliser 3. toggle on bomsight 4.increase sight velocity in sight to match TAS 5.Increase sight altitude to match planes 6.Increase line of sight to match up target 7.use rudder trim to stay on line 8.Once stable and on target hit bombsight auto key 9 If the target is sliding up or down adjust speed - increasing speed will move crosshairs down. 10 bombs will drop automatically. If you are taking off from ground on a SEOW long mission you can put in the rough height and speed before take off to save you time and allow you to concentrate on the target. Manual drops are roughly the same process - do a few practice runs to work out offset for release.e.g see this for sm-79
  12. Thanks guys , hes been warned and has agreed not to do mods so hes back online
  13. My son is addicted to this game , the problem is that when he downloads stuff for this game, sometimes my pc gets infected with homepage hijackers so I was wondering if anyone knew if this was common or could recommend safe sites/practices for downloads for this game. He claims he did nothing wrong etc, but I just cant risk my main pc so he is on his final warning about downloads and will be banned off my computer if I cant resolve this. Thats a shame as he has made mini-games etc and put a lot of time and effort into this, Any help appreciated
  14. +1 LOL or perhaps maybe ......................................................................................no mods at all

  20. Happy Christmas to all here, I hope Santa is good to you all and hope 2014 is a good year for you and your families. Id also like once again to thank all for their support this year, it made a big difference to me and proves once again what a great bunch the Dogz are S Dave
  21. new sata cable fitted last night mate - heres hoping that will cure it
  22. ok its a bit more complicated; Im still having problems with one of my drives when I bought the computer I installed xp on its hard drive - drive 1 when I wanted to upgrade to windows 7 I bought a second drive and installed it on here as a dual boot.- drive 2 It is drive 1 that seems to have a loose connection and thats what caused the origonal problem. Drive 1 has the master boot files and so thats why these are corrupted. And I cant seem to get it fixed properly. I dont need all the partitions on drive 1 , only 1 has programs I use but I think it will be difficult to save these. The problem is either drive connections, sata lead or motherboard Anyway plan is to swop the Sata leads one final time to try to secure all connections, then make drive 2 ( win 7) bootable and active and finally if drive is still erratic then copy the partition I need and install this onto a new hard drive If its the motherboard then Im screwed and itll be a new pc
  23. Thanks guys ran the startup repair from the windows disc , then the command line on the windows recovery, then ran bootrec and seems ok. Still puzzled about the cause, I suspect a faulty connection so I will strip, clean and reinstall everything on tuesday when I have a bit of time Im also going to get an external harddrive and mirror the drive in case it is the drive giving out good to have the reassurance here thanks Dave S
  24. Computer crashed due to power trip and when I restarted had the error message "DISK BOOT FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER", The drives are detected in BIOS so I switched the boot sequence and booted off my win 7 disc, did a repair but no joy. The sysetm boots off the windows disc and everything is ok bit I cant boot off the hard drive. I think I have to repair the mbr? what is the best way to do this? how do I know what partition this is on ? I have 2 harddrives each with partitions on them
