  1. anyone following the developments here http://forum.il2sturmovik.net/ ? any thoughts? Personally I think the ROF team have done a good job but there are some worrying aspects in the dev updates e.g. having to do offline campaign to get upgrades, not something I ever associated with flight sims , more x-box shooters getting XP points. good to see a lot of the old ubi names on the forums as well tho we live in interesting times
  2. superb !!!!!
  3. The memorial was very moving and the replica was dedicated to all fliers who died during OTU at Grangemouth, the spitfire is a replica of that flown by Sargent Eugeniusz Lukomsky from poland There were representatives from the RAF, British Legion, Poland,Czechoslovakia , Australia and New Zealand. there is some photos here http://www.falkirkherald.co.uk/news/local-headlines/grangemouth-air-cadets-unveil-spitfire-memorial-1-2925235 and these are the ones I took one of the veterans attending links to his story http://heroesreturn.org/heroes-return/ian-forsyths-story/ http://local.stv.tv/hamilton/news/features/108216-war-veteran-pays-his-respects-to-fallen-comrades-in-normandy/ flypast The building in the background with the blue writing was one of the origonal hangers from the aerodrome
  4. I used this http://www.mytravelcash.com/ you can load it with as much as you want and then use it like a mastercard. This will give you a known limit to spend. When you come home you can withdraw remaining cash from ATM. I had no problem with using it

    I Deleted..

I found your post offensive. If you cant see posting something as wrong with linking the deaths of thousands of innocent jews to gun control laws in any context then Im shocked. We play a virtual game here, in no way or form would I wish to replicate the actions I do on a pc screen to real life In no way or form do I hold any respect to the political views expressed by the axis forces we portray in the game there is nothing ironic here it is about having respect for others and I am surprised at your posting as It was not what I expected given what thought I knew of you.
  9. as the guys have said while other players can influence what you see e.g. induce lag with print screen, wingtip smoke rapid flashing of lights it is more than likely your internet settings and connection that is at fault. make sure no-one else is using wi-fi to your pc when playing, make sure no programs are updating automatically e.g. anti-virus and windows and then post your results from ping plotter to the dogz server. The most important measure is to see if the end host was reached without excessive latency or packet loss. If it is reached without problems appearing at the end host itself, then any apparent issues in the route in between are irrelevant, and may be due to low priority or rejection of ICMP ping requests in the route. Any issue seen in a traceroute that does not carry through to the end host (e.g. packet loss or increased latency) is not a real issue. Any issue that does carry through, however (that is, starts at one hop and happens at all the subsequent hops), may be an issue with the route. In my opinion, for gaming, under 100 is best , anything over 300 is problimatic , however there is very little you can do about high pings unless the cause is the first hop. this is the link from your pc to your service provider hub, called the bam server. IF the fault is here then you should contact them and get hem to trouble shoot the problem. If you are on dial=up then it could be your phone line, the phone junction or the server is overloaded and you would need to check all of these out. here is my results and I get no lag
  10. The short answer is no, your computer specs should not the cause. IL2 is so old that even medium grade computers run it well. You can check by pressing SHIFT+TAB keys to bring up the consol and typing fps START SHOW this will show your frames per second and should be smooth if you have vsync enabled. compaire online and offline performance, post back with figures aspecially when you run the black death track It might be your internet connection, if this isnt smooth then you might get slight lag and see planes zoom away but this would be errratic and you would see the green bars on your screen go up and down. Another way to check is to use a program called pingplotter http://www.pingplotter.com/ run this and put the dogz server in and see if your pings are smooth For smooth fast flying one of the main things you should watch is pitch, even small errors of pitch up will have a big effect. watch your instruments , make sure the ball is centred so no slip hope this helps
  11. I have moved it to a partition a while back
  12. OK solved problem heres how I did it 1. Verify integrity In the Steam GUI, go to the Library, then the game. Right-click > Properties > Local Files Tab > "Verify Integrity of Game Cache". It checks your game for corruptions and missing files, and will replace them as necessary. 2. Clear cache In your Documents, go to the "1C Softclub" folder, then the "il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover" folder. Within is a folder labeled "cache". Delete the contents, specifically of a folder labelled "shaders". 3. Save INI **Your control and graphics config** eg - confuser.ini / conf.ini files 4. ran dotnetFX40 and fixed install 5. ran dxsetup that came with game both above are in redist folder 6. Install patch Open the patch executable file (run as administrator) and point the mod to your IL2 Cliffs of Dover Folder generally located inside Program files (x86). Click OK and a status bar will show installation progress. Once complete you can close the installer. 7. ***Very Important*** Start up IL2COD until you get into the loading screen. This creates a new folder under Documents/1cSoftClub called IL2 Cliffs of Dover - Mod. The Mod folder is where you place your saved config files. 8. Copy ini files over again to main folder The installer creates a separate folder under Documents/1cSoft named IL2 Cliffs of Dover - MOD. Please note you must move copy your controls and graphics configs (generally confuser.ini and conf.ini) from the Documents/1CSoft IL2 Cliffs of Dover folder to the MOD one as they do not have your saved configs. i.e. the *.ini files need to be copied from C:\Users\UserName\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover to C:\Users\UserName\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover - MOD directory not from your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover 9. launched game set graphics resolution to match desktop , set all options to medium, no shadow, no grass, no epilectic filter vsync enabled 10 able to fly now need to set up x-52
  13. when I apply the mod I get the launcher.exe failure. when I return to standard game Im ok
  14. what should I back up before installing this mod ?
  15. I have finally got some feel back into the stick after months of playing with settings I inserted some spacers and tensioned the spring - much better now- should have followed Crashs advice months ago !!!
