Nice Rattler !!!!!!!!!!!!! Kicking over the bonny was easy when you knew how, couple of squirts in the carbs, choke just right and a long slow arc, tho I got many a laugh at bike rallies when others who thought they knew better tried.
-
great stories guys, that was a brilliant bike looking arthur, maybe youll get another some day. Brando I always wanted to ride a panther, what was it like to kick over? Is Rattler the only current biker in the group? What do you have now mate?

Here are some pics of some fond memories My triumph bonnieville , cafe raced and chromed up with open mega exhausts. The turbo slogan on the back was a wind up because honda and everyone else were releasing their first turbo bikes around this time unfortunatly the bike above was one of meridans dogs and was always in the workshop so I bought this a a spare, was a better bike eventaully got fed up with the moneypit and went sensible when I gave up bikes i got one of these to compensate had to sell it to get furniture when I moved in with the wife LOL

Glad you liked it chaps , Ill see if I can scan in some pics of my old bonnie and post them here

Being the school holidays I took the boys along to the new glasgow transport museum and I thought that some of the dogz might like to see some of the boys toys on display One of the most impressive is the number of scale ships on display. These were made by the craftsmen who worked on the shipyards that the clyde used to be famous for and were outstanding. Most were 3 to 4 feet long, the hood was about 8ft in length !!!!!! Bit of personal history as well as my grandfather was apprenticed to John Brown shipyards and worked there prior to joining shell and coming through to my hometown to start his family The last photograph is of the charlotte dundas. This was the first commercial steam ship and was named after the inventors sponsors daughter. The earl of Dundas was the owner of most of the lands in the area I was born and my house was built on land sold by him at the turn of the 1900s Also I used to have a triumph bonneville

thanks guys It is one of my favourite planes, I remember my dad taking me up to an airshow at leuchers and watching a pair go vertical at the end of the runway and just dissapear. He would take me up there once a year to watch them as they did touch and goes and scrambles , a fantastic sight and sound. @painless the pipes are done by painting tamiya smoke over the silver. @rattler I dont think they regularly carried overwing tanks; it was only on ferry duties really @badaim , the silver is from a rattlecan and worked well , in fact Iv used automotive rattlecans before and they work well , I just didnt read the instructions on this one, the paint was for decorative purposes and wasnt suitable for handling so I should have read the can before use

Here is my completed airfix 1/48th EE lightning, built using eduard etch and quickboost seat. Paint is humbril 11 spray and revell acrylic for the blue The kit is excellent, one of my favourites that I have built, I had no alignment issues and its only let down by the front wheel well which is oval and the fuselague gap is square, a bit of plastic stretched spruce filled the gap. Decals are excellent to use The quickboost seat is too big and needed a lot of trimming to fit the eduard etch is very good It finished product isnt the best to say the least , I had a bit of a disaster during the spraying, as it is a big kit and uniform in colour I used halfords paint, but instead of my usual nissen silver I decided to try chrome - which wouldnt dry, so after 3 days I decided a hairdrier would speed things up , it didnt , all I did was slightly melt the rear tail area so this is slightly distorted. I also knocked off the tail planes and missiles when handling so the joins arnt great there. So while Im slightly dissapointed I still think it looks ok in the display cabinet and Ill definatly do another

Great news , please tell Quazi I was asking for him. Some of the best times I have had online were the old days when the dogz were just started and we flew with the HHs -

Thanks for the help It is the camera that is broken, it looks like the end near the usb connection is faulty

My TIR has died, it has been tempremental for a few months , like a loose wire and needed jiggled to connect properly , but tonight has given up the ghost. Anytime I plug it in I get the blue scren of death with usb error and the system crashes. cant boot up with it in either so it looks like its shorting out. Any suggestions for where I can get a replacement for best price, really dont need this as graphics card is acting up as well and I may need to replace this soon thanks

Hawker Sea Fury 1/48 Hobbycraft This was a kit I picked up on e-bay and included a coopers detail set , airwaves undercarraige set and airwaves cockpit set, and two vac canopies of which more later I used the best of these along with aeromaster decals ( which were superb and supplied the stencils) I have enough left over to detail a second kit if I decide to build another, the cuban marking look really nice. The kit is fairly basic and only let down by the thick one piece cockpit canopy , however I ruined 2 vac canopies trying to get an open pit and have decided I really dont like working with these so I used the kits piece. The wheel well is pretty basic so I added some wires and plastic to busy it up My only problem was when spraying the invasion stripes my mask slipped and I ended up covering the kit with white so had to strip it back and start again.- lesson learnt , dont skimp on masking tape

dont know how many have seen this but Iv just come across it and thought it was well done

that looks really good - youll need another garage to keep them all in

here is my latest, built out of the box with only addition of tamiya tape seat belts painted halfords nissen silver a nice kit apart from rear canopy which is too narrow and doesnt sit right without a bit of persuasion not weathered as Im undecided how to do this, I know that 603 kept their planes very clean and this is backed up by photos I have seen so rather than overegg it Iv kept it clean here is a flightline of my spits tamiya Mk1 revell mkIX airfix mk22 - just noticed photobucket has done something funny with codes as I rotated photo - they are ok on real model
-
Here is my take on a british apache helicopter, wanted to build one since reading Ed Macys books It is based on the 1/48 hasegawa ah-64d with the british bits stolen from a revell model. It is straight out the box and went together well tho the instructions were a bit vague and I had to rely on photos sometime It is the first time I have done a helio and the first figures Iv included Paint was tamiya acrylic sprayed from a revell starter airbrush the helio colour was a mix of drab olive and khaki and green and brown and grey until I was happy , not sure how accurate but the shade seems to change with light on the real thing and I think its not bad tamiya smoke was used to highlight exhausts and grills the pilots camo was a desert mix of whatever I had no weathering as I like it as it is I have tidies up the ir since this pic and straightened the gun mount, macro photos show up every blemish !!!
