  1. If your serious Colin - which I dont think you are mate - please post tracks so I can copy this - its still killing me too often on the servers This is what I am trying with limited sucess from height dive gentlly to around 2500m when directly over target, pulling up vertically , cut engine power to zero and winging over into a near verticle dive - hold target in gunsight dive to 1500m and pull gently through target Wait until target passes under nose, count 1.2.3 quickly and drop this will be around 1000m - pull gentlly out of dive, power up and egress , 1000m is lowest for sucessful pullout rate - lower leads to many lawndarts even this has poor hit rate

    Other Games

Here are some slightly different games that have surprised me recently The kids got a wii last year and im really impressed with some of the titles , I used to think they were kiddie but the mario games are fantastic , the new super mario galaxy 2 is one of the best designed games I have ever played, mario kart is a blast and Iv just got goldeneye , a remake of the snes classic FPS Th eldest has just got a x-box and Batman arkym asylem and Bayonetta are 2 very good games, he likes the Assasins Creed games.
  3. I have found this so will try it out http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Knowledge_Base&op=show&kid=279 any other help or suggestions appreciated
  4. @Fruitbat Thanks for the videos however they are similar to what I have been trying so while I agree you can bomb a target with the right run, I dont think that you can survive those runs to any great degree - I had a 75% sortie completion before and if I used those runs then Id be lucky to see halve of that . the corsair attack was very good but you still got hit and if there had been any flak on the P-51 attack then I dont think you would have survived. I have read some of the comments on the 1c site , and while it was hard finding the diamonds , I thought there were some valid points from guys I have known for years and flown with often. They used the tactics that they had developed over time and that worked in the situation - now the game has changed and folk will have to adapt , this old dog will need to learn new tricks I really dont think you can do low runs now on some servers, I read how 603 squadron used spits with 500lb bombs against V2 sites in holland and had success with winging over and diving in so Ill try that Thanks for your help S
  5. LOL, i've already dropped that 'bomb' over at the banana forums bloody hell 29 pages of argument - no wonder I hardly ever go there or the zoo- is there any useful info on how to suceed in 4.1 ? Or is it all shite ?
  6. Yeah I have tried this but still get hammered at the pop up - Ill watch your vid and see if you are doing anything different - might just be a case of getting different cockpit refrences for dropping higher- I fly closed pit and had it down to a tee with the old approach , knew just when to drop thanks again S
  7. TY Ill look at these later at home - not allowed to use you-tube at work My problem is that at 40m you are vulnerable to the AA in ships whereas at 10m you were under their scope What is your survival rate in online missions now compaired to 4.09 ? mine is way down as I have to spend longer over target and coming in slower and higher leaves me vulnerable longer
  8. I used to be good at jabo - Old method was climb to 6k , start dive to targets 1 grid out, scream over ship or column at 10m and 700kmph, drop, boom, go home Now with 4.1 friggin fusing my bombs dont go off and if I drop above 20m then Im always long due to speed and angle If I try winging over and use a more verticle dive from above then Im slow in the zoom ,sometimes it does not fuse or AAA or fighters get me Anyone got tracks/tips on how best to do it and survive ?
  9. Happy new year all - hope its a good one for all and their family
  10. My wifes from Scotland too LOL
  11. 1. Dont do it unless necessary, it is a bit of work and there is the real risk of something bad happening- remember you will lose EVERYTHING in a format 2. If you do decide to go ahead then be prepared you will need 1) the windows disk- preferrably the pro version 2) driver disks i) motherboard ii) graphics iii) soundcard- if seperate from motherboard iv) any other peice of hardware If you dont have them then download all the latest drivers you require and burn them onto a dvd and keep this handy 3) Installation disks for all the software you need 4) patches for your software - burn these to the same DVD you burned your drivers on 5) Copy all your game patches and savegames and config files to your DVD 6) copy all you important information to your backup drive- all your my documents folder, all photographs , porn etc 7) get in a supply of patience and coffee 8 ) google for a guide, print and keep it handy e.g. http://howtoformatacomputer.com/format-windows-xp http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_setup.htm or go to library and get a manual, microsoft official manual is excellent but pricey 9) Convince yourself you really really want to do it and after setting bios to make sure your PC will boot from cd drive first, put windows disk in and carry on 10 ) consider partitions when doing the reinstall - I like these for dividing up my drive into logical areas like Operating System; Work; Games; Photographs etc 11 ) Take a backup just after you have a clean system i.e. just windows with updated drivers using ghost With il2 you can copy the entire folder to your spare drive and copy it onto your new system and it will run ok , with most other software you will have to install it fully onto your new sytem so that the registry is complete good luck
  12. That will be huge - look forward to more pics as you progress I have started a 1/32 Me109G10 with lots of etch, I have decals for JG27 as well for this, Santa bought me a Gladiator and a F-5 tiger so I have lots for next year.

    Uk Telephone Lines

I use one and it seemed to help, at the price it was worth the punt However there are many more variables in the system including your local exchange and especially your ISPs servers. Any problems I have had were primerily down to virgin.net servers however they seem to have got their act together and are good again S
  23. Take care Jim, hope you feel better soon S
  24. Here is my attempt at the Tamiya 1/48th Swordfish It was a MK2 kit and I know they didnt carry torpedos but I didnt like the look of the rockets so armed it as I wanted and I think itlooks better Apologies for dark photos , I get some more when the natural light is better....so that will probably be next June here in Scotland Apart from the kit I used Tamiya Etch for the wires Eduard etch for pit Xtracolor for paints Humbrol acrylic white spray Promodler wash I enjoyed making the kit and it had few problems apart from my own doing The bottom wing sags -they should be straight and I didnt notice until I checked my refrences after everything was set - I just trusted Tamiyas fit as nearly everything else was almost snap fit-it would have meant too much work and lots of flying etch wires to put right so Iv left it I had trouble getting a neat finish where the struts fit into the top wing. I didnt get a good finish with the humbrol spray and I found it difficult to work with the xtracolor white, I used this to touch up areas and it needed a few coats to cover anything and get a neat finish and it had a yellow tint over the humbrol The wire etch was difficult to glue and to get a neat join
