Monitor recommendations?

I keep thinking of getting a larger monitor Pup but I spent so much on my Sony 19" I just can't do it...... yet!

But if I was going to do it, I would not get less than 24". From everything I have read on Ubi Zoo, bigger is better.

Here is a link to a thread on using widescreen for il2. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/49310655/m/7111009546

I just got an Acer 24", with native HD 1920 x 1080 resolution(ACER/TFT/V243HBD) for £150 inc.

Really pleased with it, not tried it with IL2 yet (have to re-install all my controllers in readyness for my 3 week Xmas holiday ;) ).

I would say to make sure it supports a higher resolution, compare specs amongst same size panels, and look for quick refresh rate and high contrast ratios.

DVI/HDMI inputs are becoming a must have if you also want to view DVD movies, and multiple inputs can be a boon if you have a laptop or 2nd system.

Overclockers' own brand will be good - it's here.

I bought a 24" 1920x1200 WUXGA from them last year and it's still working fine. It's a DiGiMate (DGM) and was on for £125 then. Gone up £25 since then but I guess it's Christmas!

It's a very clean picture with no missing pixels and refreshes well. No ghosting or anything untoward.

On a similar note, I'm thinking of buying a 2nd monitor. I currently have a 19" TFT, but I want to add a 2nd. The problem is, for me, most monitors now seem to be widescreen. And I'm still keen on a square'ish monitor.

So for those who've switched to a widescreen monitor, what was it like? Are you happy with widescreen?

It all came about as last night, I was playing a game, whilst also watching a live NFL game, and I kept having to tab between to the two. But if I had two monitors, I could of watched the game on the old 19" monitor, and played my game on the larger, new, one at the same time.

Here is a handy site where i read some reviews before I bought my 22" Eizo monitor.

I was looking for a monitor good for both editing pics (PSP) and gaming. I was also looking for a monitor with a viewing angle not less than 170 degrees. On the cheaper TN type monitors you have to sit in a perfect angle, if not the monitor is getting darker in relation to the angle of view.
