Not sure how much you're paying for that m8, but PC World have it for £25 (down from £40) if you reserve on-line and collect from the store. The website will tell you if your local branch has stock. If not I'd be happy to pick one up for you and post it on. My Creative set came from http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/ though and I've found them to be very competitive as well. Good range of stock in too. Imagine a high-street retailer in the UK with an X52 on display and boxed stock!

Ignore the PC World thing m8, just had another look at the photo, and realised you're looking at a wireless one. Eclipse have that though at around £65. Personally, I really rate the HS-1000 that I just got from them. It comes with 2-3m of cable, and the sound quality is fab (especially with the latest drivers and the virtualisation switched on!)

Behind the head sets look cool, but end up being really uncomfortable very quickly.

With you there m8, plus, if you use TIR with the pro clip, or freetrack, it's difficult to position the uinit

I have a set of these, been wrapped around my head for 5 years, since I stated with the Dogz.

This is the only site I can find them, I believe they are discontinued, But I highly recommend.

I went with the Creative Fatal1ty wired phones and mike headset and it's probably the best I've owned in terms of reliability and longevity. What I really like is the mike boom, which is totally flexible and can be positioned wherever is right for clear comms - and can also just be brushed away from the mouth to drink tea or chat to anyone who comes into the room. I've always seen the swivel type as having one serious disadvantage which is the hinge or swivel part. They always seem to wear ot and cause the mike cables to fray and snap after a while.

My other thought is about the charging system. How long does it last before re-charging is necessary, and how long can you keep re-charging the battery for before it deteriorates?

Depends how much $ you're willing to spend.

I used Logitec Internet Chat ones for a long time. About $40

I found them reasonably comfortable. Decent sound, good mic.

Got a pair of these, horribly uncomfortable. $30

Still have em, free to anyone foolish enough to want them.

When I finally gave in and decided to try the 5.1 sound thing I got a pair of these. $100

I was looking for some that I could easily attach my Freetrack emitters on to.

They crushed my ears at first but the addition of some adhesive backed foam weatherstripping fixed that up.

The curve is tight so I had to stitch them on in about 5 places to hold but it was enough.

It's now a few months, great sound, good mic, no problems.
