  1. Ted? Is that you? 25 years ago I enjoyed listening to him.... well, to his music that is...
  2. Good work on the weathering... nice details... One Q though... whatsup with them greyish tires? Did the Japanese use some substitute for Rubber?
  3. il2_core.dll should be dated March 13th, 2008 (Uumhhhrrrrmmmm... those are not the Feb dll's me thinks ) The ones I use are attached here... Edit: I'm using Water=4 Dll-s.zip
  4. Here's a weird idea on the use of Profiles: Switching between versions (mods / no mods / 4.09b / 4.08) will copy a different il2fb.exe to your game folder. Could this mess up NVidia's use of profiles, as it does no longer recognize the executable? (Just guessing...)
  5. Can't help you there, I always only tune the Global Settings, and I leave the rest as they are... but as far as I know, indeed, the NVidia software should recognize you start IL2, and then it applies the settings...
  6. Yeah, at high resolution, with everything 'maxed' it sure is a looker... Except for the banding, some visible in the water, on land too, but less visible... or are you not seeing that? (Oh dear, what if you didn't see 'm before, and now you know, you do?. ...
  7. 1680x1050 Average FPS in BDt is 50. When yours appears limited to 40, me thinks it shows you is CPU bound. I can't really get it over 50, unless I overclock the CPU, bring it from stock 2.4 to 3.0Ghz and FPS go to 54.
  8. Two remarks: Change the Water=1 to Water=4, water looks better that way when using NVidia, me thinks. Change Effects=2 to Effects=1. (Prevents grey/black flickering smoke) And thanks, I increased my AA and AF settings... no decrease in FPS
  9. Perfesser, does the 2ms really work? I got me both a 19" (4:3) and a 22" Samsung, and for both I need to disable 'RTA' on both to prevent a small blur behind dots/lods moving accross the screen. (Ghosting?) Disabling RTA in fact sets response time back to 5ms, as RTA is a trick to (attempt to) improve response time.
  10. It's been some time since I've been using an ATI card, but you could very well be right, ATI may still have the better image quality... Sounds like a good deal, $130, I paid a lot more a few months ago, EUR 188,= Here's my settings, based on a balance between performance and IQ... 11. Well, could one really take credit for an idea? An idea that was there only because the original designers/programmers simply forgot to add a basic function in the GUI? IL2-Sticks is what I created, (it says so in Help, About) Someone used that idea to create an extended version of it: JoyControl. It's all cool...
  12. Cool! Finally, IL2-Sticks is in the Game's GUI! (+Some more)
  13. Lotsa missions where ya only need about 20 seconds worth o'fuel...
  14. Wow! BG, we all know you are the 1 (and only), but ...
  15. Good to hear the damage is 'limited' Knight... and you're right, do not stress it now...
  16. I got a spare 8800GTS/320... you can have it... but sending it over from The Netherlands to the UK... it's not really worth it...

  20. Google'd this error, this came up: a Microsoft article ... But, it could also be a nasty piece of malware ... Could also be a conflict between HP software and the OS. What is the issue your Security Center is trying to inform you about? Some links that turned up during the search with Google: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070911223838AAsy17w http://www.techsupportforum.com/microsoft-support/windows-xp-support/112378-generic-host-process-win32-services-has-encountered-problem-needs-close.html http://motls.blogspot.com/2006/08/generic-host-process-for-win32.html Good Luck!
