  1. Haha, you crazy Dutchman! You just can't help 'getting creative' can you Arjen
  2. Jolly good! I may have to re-watch them myself
  3. For those of you who have not seen this series, all episodes are on YouTube. I've not watched it in about a decade, but seem to remember it's worth a look. Of course one of its main stars is the late Susannah York of Battle of Britain movie fame. (I can hear Painless salivating from here!) It's other main star is also Duxford's resident B-17 'Sally B' in it's earlier 'Ginger Rogers' natural metal guise. 4. Many Happy Returns of the day Gec Sir!
  5. Lucky chaps and a testament to the design.
  6. The famous Navy ace has passed away aged 96. Those that have been to Duxford will recall that the TFC F6F is painted in his colours (some reports suggest there are parts of his original aircraft included in the restoration). An interesting article here, especially the part where he was almost dropped from the Navy! What might never have been... http://www.navalaviationmuseum.org/history-up-close/might-famous-navy-ace/?pid=481 RIP Sir, Blue Skies.
  7. Ooooh, I could be up for this! Plenty of places I'd like to visit, I'd need to have a proper think though.

And I can confirm it looks even better in real life! Fantastically finished daddy-o.
  9. Truly incredible. Now I feel even more insignificant.
  10. I know Kermit can often polarise opinion with his approach to 'operating' his vast collection, but i'm sure we can all appreciate this video
  11. Fabulous pictures, thanks for sharing mate!
  12. And that's why it's not called the Shrew... https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1519575938303216&set=vb.1442356079358536&type=2&theater
  13. Ray Hanna, at his finest No camera trickery here gentleman, that is the master at work.
  14. The track is an edited 'Recognizer' by Daft Punk from the Tron Legacy soundtrack. It's fantastic, heavily influenced by Hans Zimmer no doubt.
  15. Fantastic!!!! Shock waves, mirrors, those exhaust flames, wow what an excellent job these guys are doing! Can't wait.
  16. Cheers chaps, I have all the tracks and the whole 2hrs of comms, would like to make it into a feature of sorts. It'll give me something to do in these dark winter evenings
  17. Good isn't it, isn't it though?! I've admired his '434 solos very much over the last few years, it's clear to see now how he seems to capture that 'Hanna' method of flying. He had so many great mentors including the man himself!
  18. Just read this fantastic article posted over at Keypublishing about the warbird pilot Brian Smith. http://www.globalaviationresource.com/v2/2014/12/11/aviation-profile-brian-smith/ "Some of you will be familiar with Brian for his exploits flying World War Two fighter aircraft with the Old Flying Machine Company, The Fighter Collection, Historic Flying Ltd and others. His warbird displays are flown with the "Hanna spirit" and most recently, he has been putting on superb routines in the Hawk 75, Bearcat, Corsair and Spitfire, amongst others. The article looks at how Brian got involved in the aviation world via the Tiger Club, leading into his association with Neil Williams and Ray Hanna, the latter of whom facilitated Brian's entry to the warbird scene when he invited him to join OFMC. Brian discusses at length his time flying with OFMC and TFC, amongst many other things including his work on OFMC's film/television productions, comparing the various marks of Spitfire, comments on flying numerous warbirds and leading the 16-ship Spitfire sequence at Duxford in 2010."
