  13. Very nice mate! What a treat
  14. A day after marking 71 years since the allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, consider taking out 18mins of your day to watch this sobering and profound animated data visualisation of all the lives lost in the Second World War. (It's free to view, tickets are optional) http://www.fallen.io/ww2/ It certainly gave me the chills. Lest we forget.

  16. Dang. I've been having doubts actually, the wing wasn't right for the firecrest… try again
  17. Well it's not confirmed yet! I initially thought the brand, but that I believe only ever flew with a four bladed prop. The cowl profile looks near identical so pursued it further and discovered the crest. It's a new one to me also!
  18. Blackburn Firecrest?
  19. Blimey. I think it was the plain white finish putting me off. Well done Nick!
  20. Looks turboprop to me, possibly military / cargo. Can we get another piccy?
  21. Yes please Craig, i've gone through a whole raft of airline cockpits and it's boring me senseless...
  22. Does that make it the Lavicrep 66-P Ekorbmep? Sounds eastern bloc! Haha
  23. Holy crap! Was the report ever published? Bet it would make for interesting reading.
  24. To be fair, I have been guilty of standing under the flight path of aircraft landing in the past, it is quite a buzz... PapaBear and I had some great times many years ago at the end of Shannon Airport's runway, most notably when Concorde was doing its post-crash testing regime. Back then there weren't the security restrictions there are now, but even so the aircraft touched down a fair way from where we were standing and there was a little hill on the threshold to protect us. I must upload that video footage to YouTube one of these days, it's rather awesome!
