1. DDz Quorum Sid Posted September 9, 2009 Author 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted September 9, 2009 No idea, I click on it and it takes me to the article in the Daily mail....
GreyKnight
Sorry, I meant Daily Mail. I just hate the way videos as innocuous as this, are simply unable to be viewed from a different country. Stupid copyright laws!
2. Administrators Jabo Posted September 9, 2009 2. Administrators Share Posted September 9, 2009 Argghh indeed. The pilot described this afterwards as the most frightening 10 seconds of his career. Co-pilot failed to close the throttles at VR. A go-round was considered but abandoned given that more than half the runway length was remaining. Touchdown on the grass too! This happened a few months back. Incredibile that it's only making it's way into the mainstream media now. Jabo
Rattler
Thank goodness that nothing serious occurred. Beautiful plane!
2. Administrators Jabo Posted September 9, 2009 2. Administrators Share Posted September 9, 2009 The Victor is truly a fantastic looking thing, especially when you consider it's about sixty years old! It's in the papers today because the CAA delivered their verdict on the incident yesterday - no-one blamed fortunately, first time I've agreed with that bunch in some time! Enforcer57
I had no idea there was one still fying. I know the tankers were worth their weight in gold in the Gulf war. Love the V bombers.
Tribunus
Think about the level of training that the pilot had.
JensenPark
I'm amazed at the bystanders at the side of the runway...watching away...not even flinching or looking concerned when it emergency lands/almost crashes down the runway. "tut tut Reginald...poor show that" "Quite, Alister.
Oldtimer
bloody uptight Brits. Chill Brother, chill.........
DD_Brando
I'm still not sure what us uptight Brits didn't do that would be considered normal in JP-land? Run about like headless chickens? Band together for a hearty rendition of "Nearer my god to thee"? Throw our sandwiches into the air? Please expound. Confused, of Teignmouth. JensenPark
sorry, that is why I edited it. It is meant to make light of the stoicism of Brits... Plane about to crash or abort...and they're just there...nothing in the world will faze them. no offense intended guys...
DD_Brando
none taken bro, oh no no, not at all! (aside: Mark that chap's card, Carruthers - he's got the look of a troublemaker)

Enforcer57
Oh this is great US guys, our plan to get the Brits and Canucs to destroy each other is proceeding nicely. Then we can split up BG's kingdom and get all those neat air museums from the Brits. I got dibs on that neat garage Painless painted and this RAF flying rig. And I discovered that the Canadians DO have heads that bobble up and down when they talk. It's gotta be true;, I saw it on South Park. JensenPark
WTF? You mean I was being obnoxious solely because of Enforcer's insidious plan to steal our Commonwealth wealth? Curse you Carl, curse you!
Oldtimer
bloody uptight Brits. I very much doubt that anybody took offense JP, the humour was pretty obvious even to (uptight?) Brits.

Tribunus
Enforcer's insidious plan to steal our Commonwealth wealth? I don't know that it's entirely fair to blame this all on Enforcer.
JensenPark
Actually, we in the west wanted to separate for those reasons...but it was to separate from BlairGowrieland...not Canada.
