Lothar Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 "...uses far less bandwidth than teamspeak and sounds MUCH MUCH clearer. It's amazing." Could prove itself a rational replacement it seems Quote
Zooly Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 But how big a deal would it be for us all to change over? Quote
Blairgowrie Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Needs to be tested first but I don't think it would be big deal to change over. Quote
Lothar Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Yes, we're fine as it is. But I still would like to check out this much clearer sound Anyone setting up a server for quick testing? Maybe I can host one.. Will see if I can do it right away Quote
Rattler Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I might be able to understand Canada Goose with the new proggy........ Don't know about Delta7 though! Quote
Lothar Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Hmm... It seems I won't be staying online any longer after all.. Maybe someone else can set a server up to try this Mumble out? Here is a guide: http://mumble.sourceforge.net/Murmurguide#Windows Quote
Rico Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I've never used mumble, but I've used Ventrilo a lot, and it has pretty clean sound. Quote
Perfesser Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 We tried Vent and GSC. Ventrillo was a bit clearer with some cool stuff but TS had the least delay so we stuck with it. This new one is worth investigating. Quote
Lothar Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Yes, Teamspeak has a small delay which can be irritating at times. Who knows this Mumble is any better? Quote
gec Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 i've installed mumble server and it can be tested @ gec.servebeer.com port is default (64738) and server password is pass still did not test it live but first thing i see is that there is no whisper. at least i didn't figure out how to set it up. Quote
DD_asas Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 after tested and comproved that is really BETTER than TS, i'm all for the change, cause I'm allways with sound probs. Quote
Snacko Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Teamspeak being the standard it makes it easier I think. Quote
Perfesser Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I did see an overlay is integral with the program which would probably function as a web page display if the server also has the overlay. Quote
