Tonar
As many of you know I have been unable to join any 4.09 modded servers.
gec
hard to say m8 i do not see any reason why would windows installation make a difference between 408 and 409. i think it must be something else. probably the best way would be that me or Roger or enyone else who knows what he is doing, connect to your computer remotely and see what is happening. 2. Administrators Jabo Posted February 13, 2009 2. Administrators Share Posted February 13, 2009 Are you sure this is nothing to do with any anti-virus/firewall settings - I'd be inclined to try turning off the firewall(s) and see if that helps. Good point from Gec there - see if Roger would mind providing a bit of remote assistance. ~S~ Jabo
Snacko
I don't think reformatting your hard drive would help if you have done it recently and installed Windows.
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted February 13, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted February 13, 2009 Remote help is a possibility too Which MOD packs are you applying Tonar? 1. The original guest pack 2. The Modified Spetember update 3. The December Update You can also try this: Switch your version to 2.08, and quit the switcher. Rename: the folder IL2 is installed in\Mods to: the folder IL2 is installed in\352Mods and: the folder IL2 is installed in\Files the folder IL2 is installed in\352Files Then download (if you have not already) the AAA UI installer from our vault, and install and test that. You will have also done some of the ground work required to use my soon to be released switcher. FT may also have his version checker ready for testing soon.. 1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted February 14, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted February 14, 2009 For other readers: All eight of them, one is an executable and they must all go in the same folder..then double click the one that ends in .exe.. Blairgowrie
Hmmm! Very strange. I downloaded the 8 files to a folder on desktop on my laptop. I clicked on the il2.exe and it started extracting. But when I go to the il2-1946 program file, I can't find the AAA switcher nor do I see any of the Mods files. When I installed to my desktop, over a week ago, everything went smoothly.
Blairgowrie
Oh, and there are 2 exe files in the smaller file.
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted February 14, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted February 14, 2009 Where did you get your AAA pack from BG? I tested the one in the vault (admittedly I didn't download it from the vault and test it like I normally do) and it works fine, the switcher is called 'Il2VersionSwitcher.exe' and it also places 6 *.bat files in the root of the folder. I didn't understand Oh, and there are 2 exe files in the smaller file. Are you opening the archive in an archive manager? @ Tonar. You haven't pulled down file #4 yet m8, according to the download manager!
Blairgowrie
I got it from the File Front Link Toad Posted. That's where I got the last one and it downloaded at 1.5mbs per sec. I wondered about the archive situation. The small file I opened the archive in Win rar and clicked on the exe. I wondered how that would be able to open all the other zipped files. I tried both exe's BTW including the switcher exe. I noticed it didn't browse for a link; it just extracted.
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted February 14, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted February 14, 2009 That is the same source I got mine from Jim. Double clicking the AAA_Community_Installer_v1.exe gave me this screen:
Blairgowrie
That is the screen that popped up when I installed to desktop Rog but it didn't appear when I installed on the laptop. It just started extracting. I wonder if it could be a Vista issue. I may have a search at AAA.

Blairgowrie
Ok got it figured now. The exe is actually named AAA_Community_Installer_ver_1_1_part01.exe and is in Win Rar 1 file. I was trying to open the one in 8.

Tonar
Update..... this only happend when trying to load any modded version. all non-modded versions work fine.
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted February 14, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted February 14, 2009 Hold on Tonar. You need to do a directory listing of the folder the download is in, with any luck the corrupt file is obvious by its deviation from normal size. This is what you should have: E:\Games\IL2\mods\Mods Pack>dir Volume in drive E is Main Volume Serial Number is 146F-5487 Directory of E:\Games\IL2\mods\Mods Pack 14/02/2009
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted February 14, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted February 14, 2009 Tell you what, download the attachment. Extract the file md5summer.exe to a folder (desktop will do) run it. Point it to the folder you have your AAA files in, click Verify Sums and it will ask for a file, the second file (Mods Pack.md5) I have attached is the one it wants, it will then verify your files and tell you which one(s) fail. Got to go shopping now, be back in a couple of hours. md5v12011.zip
Tonar
OK. Have fun shopping here is my directory of the AAA DL I:\Back up 12-28-2008\IL2\Mods\AAA>dir Volume in drive I is FreeAgent Drive Volume Serial Number is 80B2-D859 Directory of I:\Back up 12-28-2008\IL2\Mods\AAA 02/14/2009
Tonar
Dang Rog, You have all the cool tools. And a big brain to go with it.
Tonar
Same exact stuff, I get the error window when I install and the md5v check is the same. The program still closes after the load during the modded version startup.
