DD_Arthur
I remember this well. It was astonishing and as his goal was to promote peace between East and West then he succeeded in spades! Gorbachov was able to use this breach in Soviet security as a reason to kick out a lot of the Breznev old guard and accelerate perestroika. What a guy! Kira
I was to young to remember clearly, which is a shame, because I would have REALLY understood the importance of the action had a I been but a few years older. I do love that feeling of "Ah HA!" when major events happen, and recognizing them for what they are.
Streak
Remember that one too. Oh I mean, WOW I can't believe that! After all I'm rather young & spry. Not some rusty old codger like some of y'all.
Mayhem
"Within a year of returning to Hamburg, Rust stabbed a colleague at a hospital where he worked and ended up behind bars again." I guess he thought that would bring world peace too. Just sayin'
