  1. My new controller box is coming along nicely... Basically, it's a cheapo lunchbox with 36 buttons.... Wiring inside: Now there is a logic behind the coloring and order of the buttons. Haven't found out what logic yet, but it múst be there, I put them in that order...
  2. x3 I'd like to specifically highlight and comment on this one: Love the way you got the background in there, the fields and bushes are blurred, SPEEED !!! And thanks for the closeups on the Swordfish, my 1/32nd model of a MkI was delivered today
  3. Friar, can us pil2ots please get a copy of the mission/map to look around/practice? (Once it's done of course...)
  4. Hi John, at present we are flying 4.101 stock until the final version comes out for UP 3. You can install UP3 over 4.101 and use the switcher for co-ops. UP3 is on RC2 at the moment and it should be able to update to the final when thats released There are a LOT of good things in UP3 like 6 dof, loads of new maps and flyables. See the MODS part of the forum for a video of the new Tunisia map. It looks stunning Fine advice, and I'd like to add: Save a backup copy of a very clean (as in no mods at all) install of version 4.10.1m, as that is currently the base from where everything happens...
  5. Tip for you Nick, just make sure you pre-book/reserve that lens for FL next year!!!
  6. Toad, I created two DVD's from last years show.... see here: Duxford 2010 - The Movie(s) Thanks Pooka, had not even noticed that yet!
  7. Fine job their Swep, thanks very much!
  8. Is this better? (Edit: Haven't got a picture of Crash getting out of his car, so this must be it)
  9. Oh, okay, thanks, suggestions noted, will do some editing (...) BTW your "Horsemen" video is excellent ! I like the part where we hear you say "OH CRAP !" and at the end, "OH WELL" ~S~ Goodlooksless. Thanks Mick! I usually try and edit out my voice as much as possible, as it's way too loud (very close to the microphone), but now that I had put a piece of tape over the microphone to stop the wind from creating noise, the volume was much lower, ánd I thought my words were kinda fitting the images.... , turns out they were!
  10. You cannot search for location by those coordinates me thinks.... Go to Tools, Options, 3D View, and make sure 'Show Lat/Long' is set to 'Degrees, Minutes, Seconds'. These lat/long values are shown on the bottom of the screen, centered. Go search for 'Holland Centre', then move some 7.5km's to the North East.... if you go in a straight line NE from Holland Centre, over 'Mud Lake', it will be there at 7.5km's... I think....
  11. Sneak preview of the DVD's opening menu screen: (Any suggestions for improving it are welcome... I'm looking for the right atmosphere, something that represents what we've been doing there, and how we did it.... am I close already?)
  12. Monday: View out of the Hotel room in Cambridge, view to the river Cam (Yes, the river is named 'Cam', and so you could say my Fuji FinePix f31d acted as a rivercam for a moment there... ) Now this is just silly, my hut cabin at the 'Stena Hollandica' Look closely, there's four beds, and one of 'm is a double bed! Choices... choices... choices...
  13. The Skyraiders pilot is definately to blame. He did not watch his leader, did not anticipate his moves... Something belonging to the category "hearsay:" Sunday evening, outside our hotel I spoke to two German guys who said the Skyraider pilot had had two instances of near misses that day, one when too close for comfort close in a formation, and one where he started his landing approach while two spits were on the field, having just landed. The SP had to go FT and pull up sharply to avoid crashing into 'm. Repeat: category "hearsay:" Me thinks he went to a party Saturday evening... as he was flying perfectly fine and normal the first day...
  14. Big cheers and thanks to JP, as the hotel deal with the vouchers worked like a charm!
  15. @ Nick: Great stuff! Specifically how you've summed it all up, chronologically... Here's an idea, as I'm possibly/probably creating yet another DVD-Video, what if we just add your beautiful photo set to it? As a slide show? Oh, and +1 and then x100 on the image you commented with "I'm pretty pleased with this one..." Jeez, that's perfection! @Swep: I'm happy you did not state "I was never tired" 'cos that would have been an outright lie! (I'm having a heck of a challenge to make the movies correspond with your statements though! )
  16. Sunday, at the show: Looked and sounded a lót like AAA whenever an aircraft came buzzing along... It's Mick that wanted me to take a picture of the clouds, I haven't a clue why though.... As this was blurred, I cut off the public at the bottom... and greyed the thing... nifty stuff, computers and image editing Now you see, that Swordfish is só friggin' slow, it's hard to catch it ....
  17. Saturday: At the show: (That's all I got from the Saturday's show... the rest's moving images) Prepared for dinner: Now here's a set of pics that just scream for some captioning: Waiting for a Cab to take use hote. ('hote' is a relatively new term, it means 'Home to our Hotel'
  18. Some piccies, resized this time, I hope in an acceptable resolution... Thursday: Friday: (What's this 'Gallery' thing? )
  19. Got home 'round 11 am today. Once again a quiet and smooth sailing it was. (The ferry crossing I mean.) The rest was all smooth, yet not so quiet... Thanks all for making it such a great event! Very good to meet mates met before, and even better to also meet mates not met before! Brilliant to be back to driving on the right side of the roads! Already started editing the video recordings! Finally getting the hang of it now: - Friday: Visit Flying Legends and have a look see... - Saturday: Visit Flying Legens and tape it to video - Sunday: Visit Flying Legends and watch the show. And in between those: DEBBS : (Dogz Eat, Banter, Beer & Sleep) Next time I might try a different ways of travel, as it felt a bit silly to arrive in Harwich at 11:15 AM, having to wait 'till 7:30 PM to check in and board the ferry Oh well!
  20. Good set of pics there Jabo! It's just feels like I was there! Oh, wait a minute...
  21. Few more things to say: * Sorry BG about the size of the photo's, but ... successfully resizing them while under the influence of alcohol.. I can't manage. * What's silly Arthur doing hijacking this otherwise perfect thread with pics from a silly 'aircraft' show with friggin' jets in it? Come on! *What a weekend! I'm happy (Fenrir, Painless, BlueBear, and lots of other geezers...)
  22. I saw him land, he had a lot of speed... use the brakes, nearly a propstrike as the tail lifted. Good pilot, he let it run all the way down the runway, to an area out of the way of other aircraft. Here's what I saw: a twirling/wiggling down piece of something falling down, it could be a wingtip. A Skyraider in a steep dive... throttling up fully, emitting black smoke. A falling dot, of which a tiny red thingy seperated. Canopy opened fully. But it disappeared behing the trees. Now the annoying thing was that the speaker was still going on talking (yes, the French git) as if nothing had happened... as it was the balbo landing he went like 'One after the other coming in now and.... yadayada... it felt Só angry and pissed off.... "No you silly bugger! One is NOT coming home!!" Finally, 15 minutes after the show ended (it ended just a few minutes after the incident) there was an announcement of what happened... and that the bailed pilot was safe...
  23. Here's a resized one. Sad one though. The demise of Big Beautifull Doll: (See wingtip on right wing...) This Skyraider hit BBD while coming out of the balbo. BBD went down, pilot bailed and is said to be safe and well... BBD is in a hole in the ground ...
