  1. Welcome to the Dogz Roberts. See you online soon.
  2. The World At War? Are you discussing the series made by Thames television, a British tv company in the late sixties, early seventies, narrated by Laurence Olivier? Absolutely outstanding and still the best documentary record of WWII ever made. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World_at_War Check out the Wiki link. I
  3. Hysterical nonsense. Such a plan is doomed to failure UNLESS they lower the qualifiying age to forty-six! Now where do I sign.......................................

Mornin' Sulky. Very good flying with you last night and nice to see you here. Glad you enjoyed last night but be careful, hang around here and you'll find you can do the same on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday nights too.
  5. Nicked from Ubizoo thread. I am smitten. Replace the iced tea with beer and this could be a DangerDogz signature manoeuvre!

  7. I think you're all going to have a great time at Duxford this year and the weather will be fantastic. If all goes to plan I'm hoping to be staying with cousins in Aus. for our summer hols this year but when we get back it will be time to recite that old Somerset folk song "Apples be ripe, nuts be brown. Petite coats up, trousers down."
  8. So that's North Worcestershire Sid. Definitely not Birmingham. Got it. Not Birmingham...............not Birmingham................. 'Course my mum's got a friend who lives in Southampton but says she's from "near Bournemouth."
  9. Do you think the Tories will get back? Strange, I've never got rid of mine. They dont call her the 'Iron Lady' for nothing
  10. Wellllllll........dont know much about P40's 'cept in 'Skies of Valor' where I found the higher you go the more a 109 is gonna own you but I do know a little about tanks. The Sherman was designed around early war US tactical doctrine; that armoured divisions would mainly be employed in exploitation and pursuit and would seldom be called upon to engage other tanks. Unfortunately this was bollox but to conform to this reasoning the Sherman sacrificed gun and armour for speed. The Sherman was fast, reliable, had a track life some five times that of a Panther with a quick turret traverse and a high rate of fire. However, in Normandy in mid 1944
  11. On my way to a conference just outside Taunton in Zumerzet this morning when this beauty steamed past as I drove under a railway bridge. Just managed to avoid driving up the arse of the car in front. Wow. As it was only doing about 20mph I managed to get to a bridge further up the line. Gresley A4 pacific from around the mid-thirties I think. Name plate said "Bittern". I know "Mallard" the world record holder is preserved but I didnt know this one had been saved. I have a feeling BG must have ridden behind one of these in his youfff
  12. RitterCuda, I had the same idea when I built my IL2 only rig last year. Then the kids started using it, then my wife started using it..............three weeks later I had to reload XP, install AVG and learn my lesson
  13. Yes sged, this is the one! Worth checking out their other vids. on this site too. You know I was going to order a new stick tonight but now I'm thinking about an Intel E8400 chip instead after watching this a couple of times. Think I'm gnna need it
  14. Dont know how many dogz have seen this yet. Must be pretty close to release if this is online footage. I think I'm gonna have to start picking Quazi's brain about overclocking my system if I want the full Castor oil effect http://riseofflight.com/Blogs/February-2009/Net-Team-Work.aspx
  15. 638.2 with an Intel E6600@2.4ghz, Nvidia 7950gt, 2 gigs decent ram, maxtor 500gb h/d on win. xp 32 bit. Not completely sure what it all means but like Fireman, Il2 runs fine, life is good! Oh yeah; I'm running one of those awful, cheap power supplies that everyone says should'nt be touched with a barge pole! 650w. and £19.50 new, including postage, off e-bay.
  16. Thanks for a great evening last night BG and Dogz and very nice to be able to get in a solid three hours worth of flyng for a change. Nice one Brando for calling engine/prop settings. Helps my rather ropey formation flying no end!
