  1. Thanks for the link Jedi. I'll get the hang of this interweb thingy one day! How this event originated is now lost in the mists of time. I think it's a pretty unique event these days. Although a couple of other little places still roll barrels through there towns, here in Ottery st, Mary, where men are men and sheep are scared, they pick 'em up and run through the crowds with them on their shoulders. Theres also womens and boys barrels earlier in the evening. The last barrel, in the town square at midnight, is big enough for a grown man to cower in! I think it's just another excuse for a winter festival with drinking and general mayhem linked to, historically, this being a big cider producing area!
  2. Oh bugger. Google 'Ottery st mary tar barrels' and be amazed.
  3. When this happens in the local town where my eldest boys go to school; Its something that everyone should see at least once as in this day and age the Insurance companies aren't gonna let it continue for much longer. As an added bonus, my wife and eldest boys will be out most of the evening and once I've got my youngest nailed into bed I'll have the whole evening, uninterrupted, to enjoy some Dutch coops!! Luxury Edit: Fixed URL - GK
  4. Spent this evening on UKDed 3 where they are running the Zuti mod.
  5. Aha!! If you disable Zuti's moving dogfight thingamajig then you're good to go on Hyperlobby. Oooopps, sorry for hijacking again Jabo. Very good luck with your machine, keeping fingers crossed. For me it would'nt be the loss of music but the loss of pictures................
  6. I've got it and I like it. I predict the Mustang will become a much more popular choice of mount now its got an armament that works too. Mind you, I feel I'm in some splendid isolation. Can't find any servers on Hyperlobby that support it yet and frankly I can't be arsed to do yet another install back to 1.1........yet
  7. Whooaa......oh no, no, no, no. If we can get Smash a pc up and running and he's in Ohio or somewhere we can get you the mods at the very least Jabo. Just tell us what you need in the way of downloads and when you need 'em and I'm sure we can get you up to speed on that front at least. Hang on in there m8!!
  8. This looks really good. Gonna try it on my lovely 22". Nice one BA
  9. He'd wait patiently 'till Saturday and enjoy his Ubizoo coops on t/s using his new mike. Looking forward to hearing the news from South Dakota on Saturday young 'un. See you then
  10. Check out this great little tutorial from Joe-90. Well worth downloading it basically demonstrates all thats been said here in a short movie. http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=2269
  11. Flew it last night on Ubizoo coops-no problems
  12. Oh booger! Missed you Friar. I've just spent the last couple of hours on WarClouds with Delta7 having my backside handed to me on a plate, several times FT, you take your laptop to the pub!? Thats...er, dedication.
  13. Yes, thats the one, Jedi. Thankyou. I would be very interested in reading said article btw. My mum was nine and my dad was fourteen in 1940. This film and the events it portrays still have a real resonance for this generation. At the time it was very much "if we can keep the bastards at bay till winter we might see this through." Of course I'm still searching for the elusive directors cut of this scene which I believe has Susan Yorke, in her underwear, flying one of the Spits!!
  14. Susan Yorke in 'forties vintage lingerie.........furnurgh.......... Edit; Actually if you're a Briton or perhaps a Canadian or Anzac of a certain age there is a scene where 'we' catch Heinkels coming in, unescorted, over the north sea....and then Ron Goodwin's brilliant music score kicks in..... still guaranteed to make the hairs on the back of my neck respond and part of the reason this sim still has a grip on me.
  15. Well cheers BG, I'll have to treat myself to a double
  16. Hey, hey, hey!!!!! I've just realised I'm now "DD_Arthur Full Member"
  17. Sid, when I first clicked on the link and saw the er....brick built effort, I thought, wtf!! but the memorial itself is beautiful! Very moving, even in just pictures and today is Battle of Britain day........ Must be very few of 'the few' left now. Edit; coops tonight, eh?
  18. To help clear the image in my head of your wife squatting by the pond after a heavy night on the creme de menthe, BG; any idea when Tonar you will be able to pull Trout from here?
  19. 'Dunno, is a stupid card one that does not contain folding money? Have a great day though Jedi and Greenstreaks
