  3. Paris layover yesterday, so I hopped the train to Le Bourget for the Paris air show. Only had a few hours to gawk, but it was nice aero-porn! Weather was marginal....cool and windy with low ceilings, which limited the acro routines. Still cool as hell, though. Got a short vid of the A400M transport showing off. I've never seen a large transport airplane in a vertical bank: Sepecat Jaguar Phallic symbols abounded... Yup, she's a DC-3 'Stang! An aging 747 It eats little kids for breakfast P-38 on a fly-by. 9. Nice find, Friar. The video showed the aircraft flipping over on ditching....I wonder if the crew made it out?
  10. Found this link with some eye-witness reports. http://theloadstar.co.uk/breaking-news-national-air-cargo-crash-at-bagram/ Conditions were gusty at the time of takeoff (20 knots gusting to 30), and there had been reports of low-level wind shear. The fact that the gear was never retracted hints that something drastic must have happened soon after lift-off. My heart goes out to the families of the crew.
