  1. I reckon Spit pilots are in for a slightly different experience with the Mk 14. From the accounts I've read, it handled more like a P51 with a better rate of climb. The prop also spins the other way, so the swing on take off is different. This caught out a few experienced wartime Spit pilots.
  2. I hope when it arrives it is the version with the cut down rear fusalage and the bubble canopy. Surely the best looking Spit ever.
  3. Very nice T. Mans best friend truely is his dog.
  4. Was that a flight control computer glitch? That 'cobra' manouvre is way out of the envelope for a Gripen. Glad no one was hurt.
  5. I understand that PCIE2 has more bandwidth and is worth about 10% more performance.
  6. Cheers for the 109 info BA. The Hurries were set on default , which should be the AP ammo. HE ammo is the option. No mattter, the mission works pretty good with the Nimrods
  7. Do any of you more experienced mission builders know which tanks the Hurricane MkIID (40mmAP) will actually destroy? I built a coop with them attacking PzMkIII's and IV's and even good hits to the read of the tank will not take it out. My work around was to use open turretted tracked vehicles as 'tanks', as they are fun to blow away. I also threw in a few Bf109F1s, but I dont know the difference between that and an F2. Armament? Based around Benghazi '41/'42, using 408m Modded, it's in the vault: http://www.dangerdogz.com/K9Vault/p13_s ... fileid/256
  8. He's just overmodelled.
  9. What are the beaches like?
  10. Yup, it certainly requires commitment. After the third session I was ready to say 'fekkit'. Got to say its a good feeling when we finally got a difficult move right. By 'difficult' I mean a loop or a roll. If you want to learn the finer points of throttle, trim, prop pitch, flaps and rudder control give it a go. Flight leader does not have to 'formate' as such, but he does need to be smooooth and consistant. (Nice work on that Mick.) I dont know how the Blue Eagles and Fighting Woodpeckers do it. Clever editing? (cynic. ) Cheers Bojan, I'd like to join you guys, give me a shout when you're ready.
  11. ~S~ Nevart, the 2 most common choices are Saitek : http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/x52.htm
  12. Sorry Stingray, but I just copied the res. from your previous post. I run a Synchmaster 22" @ 1680x1050 and ATI 3870. 1920x1200 for your setup sounds sensible.
  13. Hi Stingray, you need to edit the IL2 conf ini , copy and paste this in; [window] width=1900 height=1200 ColourBits=32 DepthBits=24 StencilBits=8 ChangeScreenRes=1 FullScreen=1 DrawIfNotFocused=0 EnableResize=0 EnableClose=0 SaveAspect=0 Use3Renders=0 That should add you a bit either side, and lose you nothing top and bottom. Plus it stops your gunsight being oval. Sounds like a nice monitor, what graphics card are you using m8 ?
  14. Yeah, great pics JP. ~S~
  15. And I was going to ask my m8, Pierre Obergine, if he wanted to join the squad.... Lol, you two look like kids at Disneyland, great pics. ~S~
  16. Fraps is good for the screen capture, but it saves the files as raw video, and those files are BIG. Try using VirtualDub (free dl) to compress the files into eg. mpeg2, then import to moviemaker. Also, I had to run the game in a window at 1024 by 768 to capture, or the result would be stuttery and too big. 800x600 would be good enough for YouTube. Have fun editing it down, lol. Good luck.
  17. I would have expected more damage to the interior with live explosive cannon shells. The steering wheel and head restraints look to be intact. Maybe they were solid AP rounds, DU or Tungsten or something. Dont talk to me about tree huggers. I got aggressively jostled by a bunch of new age lesbanians while thinning woodland around Biggin Hill.
