  1. If you go back a few posts you will see that I tried to load it into the Vault and the upload failed after 4 hours. The upload to filedump took over 4 hours. I've spent enough of my life on this for now.
  2. Sorry m8, cock up on the filename front. I'm trying to upload the correct vid. 90 mins so far. Upload failed after 4 hours.
  3. A mate of young Painless found the tin of old 16mm? film in his loft. Mick sent it off to a museum, and they kindly sent him a DVD of the footage. The event is Operation Jubilee, the failed raid on Dieppe, 1942. All three Eagle Squadrons (American) were involved, and the vid has some of Don Blakeslee's footage from his Spit Vb. This film is at full speed, so dont blink or you'll miss the action. Pretty amazing to think that no one has seen this (apart from the guy at the museum) since the war! Heres a list of the Pilots featured, and a link to the host;

    Help My Soldier!

Its pretty much the same here Rico. BT is one of the major phone companies
  5. This one looks very interesting JP. I've read so much about how the BoB was Britains finest hour etc, and obviously for a lot of people it was. However my fathers own memories, and recollections from the likes of 'Mad' Frankie Frazer (infamous London gangster) prove that plenty of crooks made it big off the war. Dressing as ARP Wardens and robbing jewellers during bombing raids was one such scam. Agreed about Dieghton. If you have not already read Fighter, Bomber, Blitzkrieg and Goodbye Micky Mouse, you should.
  6. Nice one Tonar, you and the fish look very happy. Where's your dog m8?
  7. Lol, you are right there m8. The only clean things in my hovel are my monitor screen and my TiR reflectors.
  8. Thanks BG. Its interesting to see construction requirements and methods from very different locations (for me). Your land has to absorb a hell of a lot of water if you do get a fast melt.
  9. I have to ask BG, but what is your man standing on? Some kind of 'duck run'?

    Good day DD

My personal view is that a guy should fly with us a few times before flying in a SEOW.
  11. That all looks like a friggin workup BG. I'd just open it in FMB and change it in descriptions/conditions. 1 min tops.
  12. Thats great Deputy, and congrats on that first kill.
  13. Deputy, there is no rush to get all that junk. All you really need is a $25 joystick and an interest in the game. Plenty of Top Guns on hyperlobby use just that. After flying IL2 for over 3 years, I accumulated the extra goodies over time, and as my interest grew. Most guys would have a similar story. Padlock should be enabled in all DDz sessions. If its not, ask the host to switch it on. The only exception would be inter squad matches. Just enjoy zooming around for a while.
  14. I guess its just how each guy looks at it Dep. I reckon WWII pilots had lots of flight critical stuff to fiddle with, even in combat. Check out some of Bud Andersons accounts. Not flown any other sims, but I'd imagine with modern jets you'd get most of your info looking forward at the HUD. In IL2, 'lose sight, lose the fight' is where TiR comes in handy. Fiddling with the keyboard for prop pitch, rads, mixture, trim etc. would drive me nuts now.
  15. Its the same here Merdog. I don't ever remember construction projects being mothballed. I hope some of that money starts filtering through to homebuyers soon.
  16. Bloody 'ell Falcon. Just a man having fun with his bayonnette!

  18. Dont bin 'em yet AP. I hated my Saitek peds when I first got them. They seemed counter-intuatve, specially when trying to aim. And I was stiil twisting pointlessly on the stick, lol. After I slackened the yaw settings in game, and calibrated them in controll panel. they seemed better, but it took about 6 weeks to get really comfortable with them. I wouldn't be without them now, some manouvres such as slipping, and trimming German planes (no rudder trim) is much easier. Give them another go m8.

    New here...

    Hi Lothar and welcome.
  20. Found these on a motorcycle forum I use, and had to share. I dont know much about photography, but these look pretty good to me. This guy should be working for the American Tourist Board. The last one is the Hoover Dam at night.
  21. Rememberance Sunday (as we in the UK call it) is a good time for us to reflect that whatever percieved hardships we endure nowadays, we have a hell of a lot to be grateful for. As a cadet in the '70s, I was fortunate to be chosen to play 'Last Post' and 'Reveille' for a service held locally. An old girl supplying tea and biscuits after the event had tears in her eyes as she said how beautifully I played, and how she was reminded of her Merchant Fleet husband. In spite of my youthful arrogance, I was very moved. I wont forget them. I wish we could learn more from them. So we dont keep having new generations of dead veterans. ~S~
  22. Fascinating Toad, thanks for posting. War sure made a mess of those French towns. Guncam footage is awesome.
