Looks pretty bad, my dad is talking all morning about how nasty the quakes where in the 80´s and early 90's when we lived in Tokyo. Nothing on this scale though.

Shocking, and no pun intended.

Thank goodness they are well prepared, but the news of 2-300 bodies found on the coast is terrible news.

And the missing ship with 100 on it.

Thoughts are with them.

Japan is probably the most prepared country in the world for disasters like this, so it's stunning to see the level of devastation. Let's hope the casualties are minimal.

This is only what is known a few hours after the quake. Judging by the apocalyptic footage of water and debris sweeping over the entire landscale, rest assured that there will be at least thousands of dead, hopefully not tens of thousands

Third largest economy has been hit exceedingly hard, and I think recovery will be a long haul.
