1. DDz Quorum DD_Fenrir Posted January 25, 2019 1. DDz Quorum Posted January 25, 2019 Hi chaps, Starting Monday 28th January, the mission I host that gives everyone a chance to fly anything will have a new toy: the DCS community made - and therefore free! - A-4E Skyhawk! However it will mean that anyone wishing to join will have to have the mod installed, whether they wish to fly it or not. Could I therefore request that those wishing to partake retrieve and install this surprisingly good Mod - it's a fun little jet, not nicknamed the Scooter for no reason! It's available here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=224989 Follow the install instructions in the thread, it's pretty darn simple as Mod installation goes. Manual for those wanting to know how to do stuff once you have it is here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1cUH7jpAoGHm-IzUDnv_NDhiZlvX55Q9WvpgR1d9ksYY/edit#slide=id.g45fb1305f8_91_109 Be advised it's not yet feature complete and they are still working through some bugs, though most have workarounds, and generally don't affect too much the enjoyment of this nippy little jet. Thanks chaps! Fen 1 Quote
DD_Arthur Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 It's got a functional air to ground radar? Wow, thats some mod Quote
Kira Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 For freeware, I'm impressed. On a DCS standard however... Not so much. Quote
DD_Arthur Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Hmmm...hasn't DCS only just managed to get ground radar functional - with the F/A18 - very recently? Quote
1. DDz Quorum DD_Fenrir Posted January 25, 2019 Author 1. DDz Quorum Posted January 25, 2019 No, Viggen's had ground radar for about 3 years now. Benefitted from a comprehensive update recently too. Quote
1. DDz Quorum DD_Fenrir Posted March 11, 2019 Author 1. DDz Quorum Posted March 11, 2019 The A-4E mod has jus received an update! Quote v1.3 Changelog: - New carrier catapult mechanic - New RWR System, complete with originally produced sounds - Aircraft chocks now available, allowing carrier cold starts - Enhanced Shrike Usage, with originally produced sounds - Reworked Internal Lighting - New Menu Music by Eric Haugen (Thanks!) - New collision Mesh (Hitbox), aircraft no longer invincible - Huffer now works on carriers - Fixed TrackIR issues However, for now, for the sake of simplicity and making sure for tonight's session we are all singing from the same hymn sheet, I strongly suggest you delay updating. It would be best to wait until the current Beta version is ported to the Release as this also solves the issue of exploding Skyhawks when spawning cold & dark on the ground. 2 1 Quote

1. DDz Quorum DD_Fenrir Posted April 18, 2019 Author 1. DDz Quorum Posted April 18, 2019 Hello chaps/chappesses, Think it's safe to upgrade our Skyhawk installations to v1.3 now, not sure about compatibility with host, so if we all smile sweetly at FT and batter our eyelashes, maybe he could install it to the Dedicated Server... Available here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1sbeGMJ209PwhOIkW8tF9y0q_gvjdoOz2 A-4E-C v1.3.zip is the file you need. If we could all have this by Monday 22/4/19 eve chaps could help pre-empt any potential issues joining the server. Quote

T_O_A_D Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 After a few clicks you will find the file here atm https://github.com/heclak/community-a4e-c/releases/tag/v1.3.1 Still downloading and reading, will this make my game not connect to stock games, or will this be a JSGME install? Quote
T_O_A_D Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Yep too daft again, C:\Users\username\Saved|Games\DCS I know its the correct location. Quote

OK; I've put the A4 in the same location as Toad. I'm not interested in flying it but it does not show up in my game and I'm unable to join the DD server without it. Obviously I'm doing something wrong but.........? Quote

DD_Arthur Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 I don't have a Mods folder in my 'Saved Games' location. Should I create one and put the A-4E-C folder in it? Quote

rox Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Need help here, the mod is in the right place but it doesn't register with DCS, can't join DD server. Here's pics: You can see in the lower left corner that the mod requirement is in red. The server is also greyed out when not highlighted. Installation path, A-4E-C folder contains all the stuff it should as per FT's picture. I switched from stable to open beta via updater program yesterday, hence why file path doesn't say DCS.openbeta. I read on the forums that this is normal when switching and shouldn't be an issue. I'm sure this is the right SavedGames/DCS folder as I created a test mission in the game, saved it, and it shows up in the same folder under Missions. Quote

rox Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 Gosh I don't know what I'm doing lol. I thought I copied and pasted part of my post that I deleted, inn the end it was an old clipboard item that Fen sent me. In any case, the problem is resolved, some files were missing after all. Quote
