1. DDz Quorum Friar Posted July 29, 2012 1. DDz Quorum Posted July 29, 2012 My next door neighbour works for a company that is doing the x-ray scanners for the stadiums and they had a couple of runners in the torch relay. He was allowed to bring one home for the night. Quote

DD_Arthur Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 So how does it work? Has it got a gas cannister? Would be a great thing for camping/evening barbies with Seb Coe, etc? @Painless; very relevent observation! Does beg the question, who has the best legs in the DangerDogz? Quote
1. DDz Quorum Sid Posted July 29, 2012 1. DDz Quorum Posted July 29, 2012 In what way are they nice? Nice and smooth.....? Nice and shapely.....? Quote
JensenPark Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 this is how I imagined Colin with the Torch. How are you UK'ers perceiving the Olympics btw? Is there general excitment? Or "just get it over with?" watched some of the bike races...was neat to see the streets lined with people. Had no idea this was the 3rd time London has hosted... Quote
1. DDz Quorum Friar Posted July 30, 2012 Author 1. DDz Quorum Posted July 30, 2012 3rd time indeed JP, I think the only county to have done that. I think the Olympics are great, watching lots when I can get the remote. Really enjoyed the Opening Ceremony. It seems to be bringing the country together in a jingoistick frenzy........to the tune of Queens we will rock you Clap Clap bang, Clap clap bang ...Team GB Team GB Quote
BadAim Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 There is nothing wrong with patriotism. It's really quite different from nationalism, and I think people forget that sometimes. Of course I'm biased, I like you guys, I'd move over there in a second if I could take my guns. Quote
DD_Arthur Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Being an ex sport-billy I've been really enjoying it so far. Auntie BBC has done us proud in that if it's not on TV they are streaming everything on their web site. The only thing that annoys me is our press's expectations of our own vastly under-funded athletes. Forget beach volley ball. I'm currently watching the women's hockey. Holland v. Japan. The Dutch team seem to consist entirely of six foot tall supermodels. Cor!! Quote
1. DDz Quorum Painless Posted July 31, 2012 1. DDz Quorum Posted July 31, 2012 ~S~ DDz You are awful..........................but I like you ! Kelly:It would be fair to say most people are well into watching team GB's progress. I think the olympics really are "an inspiration for a generation" Especially these days with kids thinking that being competative means exclusively a high score in a computer game. Having said that, I am not that fussed about watching them personally because there are no engines involved ! LOL ~S~ P. Quote
