  1. i'm using it in conjunction with uranium. I've just got uranium enabled first, then this mod after through the switcher, and when you go to enable the smoke mod through the switcher, this comes up, just click yes to enable, its just changing the smoke effects from uranium to these, the files its flagging up are the 'original' uranium fire smoke effects, this is the overwriting i was talkiing about, my bad, should of explained it better. Its designed to work/add on to uranium, so you guys shouldn't be having problems, as long as you do what i've shown, hope this helps, fruitbat

  3. i'm getting lock on soon, flatspinman is sending me his copy of it, which is jolly decent of him, will i be able to buy this add on for that, or do i need something different? by the way, don't know if you know about this, 6dof mod for FC2, posted by gorz, at ubi, 6dof mod posted by gorz
  4. well used it online tonight, no problems at all, looked really good saw it several times, lol
  5. Hi toad, its a new mod this week that is designed to work with Uranium effects, just changes the smoke from fires, and you enable through jsgme. I've been using this week and will use it online tonight for a trial, but no obvious fps peformance loss that i've seen so far on my system. Its possibly a little over the top, but it does look damn good, i got it from here, but its at SAS and AAA as well, Smoke effect just enable through jsgme, and overwrite the 4 or so files from uranium that it flags up.
  6. only just seen this thread, don't know if you know, but i've got a little mod, which removes icons from any track (and game) when enabled, regardless of in game icon settings. I always use it for screenshots to remove icons from my tracks, can dig it up if someone wants it. fruitbat
  7. Well, today i had a massive scare. I'd been moving some stuff around on my desk, including my monitor, which is a 15 month old 24 inch samsung monitor which i love, and turned my computer on, and nothing. the monitor refused to power up, and the led wasn't even on. Now after expelling several expletives, after checking all the cables, even checking the fuse, using a different cable, different socket, and nothing, i was pretty pissed. I remembered gettting a letter from DABS, the company i'd bought it off sending me a letter in jan saying would i like to extend the warrenty, as 12 months was up, which i'd never got around to doing, so thought i was buggered. Anyway, i phoned up samsung just to see really, and spoke to a really helpfull bloke, who told me that i actually had 24 months on this product anyway (fuckin cheaky dabs, trying to sell me something i didn't need), and that they would organise a replacement within 2 days, and swap at my door, which is top notch in my opinion Anyways, to my dilema, About 5 hours later, after i'd moved everything around, and reconnected to my 17inc CRT, i just tried the 24inch again on a whim, and low and behold, it powered up again, and im using it right now to type this on. Should i tell Samsung, or just replace it? Either way, i don't want to have a monitor that refuses to power up from time to time, but i don't want them to turn around and say that i have to keep it now, any advice appreciated, fruitbat
  8. Yeah my wife has been saying that for years.. oh the shame.... 24 inches godammit, lol
  9. to add to what the others have said, i'm running a 24inch widescreen with my old 17inch CRT. It was a simple case of plugging it in to the gfx card, and then going to nvidia control panel to manipulate, res etc... Warning. It is very easy to get use to your new monitor screen real estate!!! "4inch doesn't seem that big anymore, lol. Interstingly, suffer no loss of fps either, running a gtx280.
  10. you need to use this, http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,1110.0.html to open the tgb file, which is the one you want, just rename tga, then open in the utility, and save as tga from within the utility. you can then open this new tga with normal stuff, i use gimp. the large tgb files have the alpha channel saved with them, you will get rid of it when you can save it into bmp. You can also save the alpha channel seperatly if you so wanted, or though highly unlikely, again just rename the file .tga. once you open the new tga file, with say gimp, you can save it as a bmp and it gets rid of the alpha channel, then i use infraview to reduce colurs to a 256 colour .bmp, and hey presto, you have the skin:) hope this helps, fruitbat
  11. And when they return it will be as if nothing happened............ its classified, you'll find out in a hundred years, sitting in your $1,000,000 cybotic body, with your brain in a jar, hardwired to a titanium chasis, that they've been saving the world. evey year.
