    well BadAims doing OK on a 470, so maybe a 460 will be the min card needed to play it well.

    best bang for buck option at the moment is a GTX560ti imo. seriously, or less you can pick up a cheap 480 as there selling them off, 560 is the way to go. obviously if you have the money 580 all the way. It defiantly seems at the moment its very much gpu limited, not cpu from todays testing between myself and mayhem heres a comparison of a 460 v 560 by the way, http://www.hwcompare.com/8871/geforce-gtx-460-1gb-vs-geforce-gtx-560-ti At the moment, with a gtx280, with the res turned down to 1280x800 (anything higher slideshow), i'm getting @50fps over the sea, but high teens low 20's over land. I'm in no rush to buy the english version now, until i get a new card, and/or it becomes much better optimised, thats for sure. Hope the upcoming patch at the end of the week addresses some of the issues. at the moment, its not really acceptable to me with the hardware i have (read gfx card) and how it plays, i can do dogfights over water, but thats it in reality, and only at a shit res to boot.

    if you've got around a GTX280 card or less, forget playing at any decent res, thats for sure. I'm sure its going to be the best flight sim out there for years to come, but my first impressions are, that its in dire need of the patch coming out in a few days, to make it truly playable. I'm having to play on 1280x800 with a gtx280, i7940@3.5Ghz to get acceptable frame rates, and thats really only over the sea.

    my first impressions. It has the potential to be awesome, and i'm sure it will be in the future, it looks stunning. however, at the moment its still beta imo. hopefully the patch thats coming in the next few days will help a lot of the optimisation problems.

      so I noticed lol, gave it a quick test run this morning, horrible performance on my system (though I don't know the default graphics settings, and it was on full resolution so there is hope after I find out how to lower settings), my joystick didn't register but the throttle worked, and upon pressing escape my whole system crashed and rebooted. Also lots of bugs with rendering the pilot and planes in the menu. but oh well, hopefully they'll patch up the buggyness within a month or...

    it kinda warms my heart when you give mod advice FT! What FT said is fine. however, UP2.01 is soon to become obsolete, with the new version of the Ultrapack scheduled for the first week of April, and this will be based around version 4.10.1 rather than the older 4.09. I would just wait until that comes out and get that, as will we. for now we're nearly always flying 4.10.1 , so.... best thing to do for now is create a backup of your 4.10.1 install, ready to put the new UP over when it comes out.

    What jabo said. I just converted some missions from a normal offline campaign, into a series of online co-ops which enables others to join in the mission and the comp flying all the other planes apart from the human participants, which 4 of us flew on monday, and bloody great fun it was!

    If anyones interested, i'm happy to stick a few missions up tonight, and give HSFX 5 a testdrive, i've just quickly co-op'ed an offline Dgen crimea 109f4 campaign i've been messing around with over the last few days.

    we've got 6 pilots now, Myself, Fen, Mayhem, Squawk, Jedi and Rox. Squawk and Mayhem, you will need to get HSFX 5 down, myself Fen and Jedi got it and it works fine, Rox is downloading.....
