I love helos too, but I find there is a void out there. Blackshark is ok, but I'd really like to fly something different. To this degree, I find myself flying helos in Arma Combined Ops quite a bit. Not really a definitive helo sim by any stretch but it does the job well enough when I want to fly a Cobra, Apache or even Littlebird. The A10 is fun in Arma too especially with headtracking and guys on the ground to communicate with. As for addictions, well Arma Combined Ops mod Dayz and Wasteland online mission have got me pretty good.

Hey all, read a post about someone needing an occasional jet fix. I couldn't remember if I've posted info on this before so if that be the case, forgiveness mi scusi. I've been flying this on and off quite a bit and it is excellent. Gives DCS A10C a run for its money and much better then FC2 me thinks. Fully clickable cockpit, 6DOF and The dynamic campaign manager probably the best around. You really feel like a small part of a much larger war taking place. All you need is the falcon4.exe, download Falcon BMS and install. If anyone is interested I can't help get you started. If you like jets you really should try this. Gets interesting around the 18 minute mark but watch the takeoff its pretty cool too.

Wonderful. This reminds me of a Youtube channel that used to exist called 'Mr.MilitaryAviation'. It was one of the best collections of documentaries I'd ever come across. Pity it was shut down for copy write reasons, it was truly a one stop wealth of information. Thanks for the link, this one is getting bookmarked.

Might I suggest getting a 1 or 2 terabyte external drive so future disasters can be averted with simple backups.

Why is this? Is there some sort of engine limitation?

Most of the processors I've owned over the years have been AMD. The i5 and i7 have stronger cores though then their rivals which shows, especially on single threaded programs like IL-2. This time around I had a little more $$$ to throw at a build so I went for the i5 3570K which was about $230. It was worth the extra this time I think cause the Bulldozer from AMD really couldn't compare. Well, glad you have enjoying all the prettiness of ROF. If you can run it maxed out, it really is fantastic and definitely worth the upgrade if you ask me.

Ha, I think you're paranoid, I didn't get that impression at all. I saw it more as maybe someday type of thing. Compelling and a bit freaky. Having never seen it, it was pretty gripping. Just wanted to share the thrill ride. The actress is really good. I thought she gave a powerful performance. There was no hidden agenda to my posting it. Not that I'm saying you were implying that of course. Whether or not it is some sort of pro something statement never crossed my mind. I do kind of see where you're coming from a bit though. I'll tell you one thing though. I'm gonna start saving my pennies now so I can be one of the first to get one of my very own when they come out in a couple of years. As long as she does all the housework I'm sure the wife won't object too much. Yes, she will be at my disposal...... garbage and otherwise. I just bought a Nvidia gtx 670 that came with Assassin's Creed III. I finally did it and went to a laser printer. I should have done it a long time ago. Got a sweet deal on a Canon multifunction. Paid $99 at Office Max. The toner carts cost 36 bucks a piece and do up to 2000 pages. That's up to 4 reams of 500 sheets. No color but the toner won't dry out like ink and much more cost effective per page. I personally like civilian flight. There needs to be really nice scenery, excellent traffic control communication and air traffic though for it to really be worth it. Having all failures set to realistic is a must as well or there really is no point to it for me. The one thing I would love to see more of however is a privateer/economy aspect. For instance being a bush pilot in Canada, Alaska or Australia would be great if it included choosing your jobs and budgeting your company. Sort of like Freelancer of flight sims. If you were successful in making a profit you could upgrade or get a new plane and perhaps even manage a fleet at some point. I think that would really make civ flight much more enjoyable and strategic. Most of the time I fly civ, I pick the most treacherous areas, set the worst weather and always have realistic failures set. Having to get packages or passengers from point a to b though would make it that much more entertaining.

Don't see the big issue with necrothreads as long as the information is useful or interesting.
