  1. Dang ! I'm really tempted to cancell my preorder. I have preordered it on 2 Feb 11 and they are still pushing the release date back. I'm getting fed up. Anyways I'll wait. There is always RoF, FSX and riding the motorcycle. I will not preorder another sim ever. MT I'm quite against pre-orders for games, unless it is some form of very limited collectors edition. Games are not a scarce item, and therefore is not subject to effects of limited availability.
  2. My bad, I bought it on a sale, its 39€ at the moment.
  3. In your Steam Library, you right click on Cliffs of dover and press Properties. Then click the Local Files tab, and press 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache". This will then check your install and make sure it is the same as the most recent patch. Very useful for reverting errors. I'll on TS if you need me.
  4. There is always the choice of cancelling your preorder and just getting it of Justflight. Unless you are really into the whole waiting thing, that really is the best option.
  5. It should be automatic, just start the game and you should have the correct patch. You could always run the Validate local cache in the in-steam properties menu. Are you using the russian version BG?
  6. Waiting for the I44 release as well, seems to be pretty fun. Its really cheap on Steam, 19€ at the moment for both Arma II and AO which combines into Combined ops (very imaginative naming there).
  7. I quite enjoy it, stock game is quite nice, particularly on the infantry site. The game is defiantly not a fixed wing flight sim, helos are pretty decent and a lot of fun. Add in the ACE mods and you suddently have a very realistic infantry and to some extent armour sim. RPGs and launchers create deadly backblasts, rifles can be stablized against objects, people can be wounded and dragged being cover for treatment. I very much enjoy it. It defiantly does combined arms very well, one of the few games you can guide in artillery. Very fun in multi.
  8. They are putting it up on steam now, I'll shout when the patch is out.
  9. +1 on that, best stick I have used, I have even bought a spare.
  10. The high alt sputtering of the Spit was fixed in the beta patch and supposedly the bomber thing is in the works. The stock patch is pretty buggy, we really need the beta patches stable and made official. Multi-core would be rather good as well.
  11. Remove the icons entirely. Annoying I know, but its all we have for now.
  12. I will be running the new beta patch, as it does fix a number of multiplayer issues. The stock game should be compatible, but the map is slightly more difficult to use.
  13. CloD flying session tonight, around 8-9 BST, all welcome

    1. Jabo

      Jabo

      What's that in Dogz time?

  14. I was thinking about 8ish BST, but I can run it anything you want, sooner or later. Alternatively, I could run a later one for you chaps across the big wet thing.
  15. As there is an increasing number of us who are playing CloD, I though a training session would be in order. As the complex engine management is quite complicated I though a bit of practice wouldn't hurt. I plan to go through the startup of the Spitfire and the Hurricane, and general engine control, and perhaps some other aircraft if people are interested. I'll be using the multiplayer maps so FPS shouldn't be an issue. It has a number of AI drones, and a targeting range for gunnery practice. Anyone interested?
  16. Happy Birthday, and congratulations on getting the dayshift.
  17. +1 on X52 as throttle and button bay and MSFFB2 as stick. Works really well.
  18. I bought it in steam yesterday, just getting back into the wonderful world of arma.
  19. What you could do is just go into the FF folder CloD (under steam) and just remove the punch and mortar effects, pretty much the only useful one is the Spring. There are programs such as Fedit which can reduce the amplitude of the "vibrations"
  20. HELICOPTERS! My upcoming Pusan Perimeter mission should be quite a lot of fun.
  21. I agree Adaware is great, but really, Firefox guides you to porno? I punch that into my calculator and it makes a happy face.
  22. A post on the banana forums on scripting displayed the number of different types of damage an aircraft the receive in CloD, it is quite a list. I have done some testing and some of the details are quite astonishing. For example, losing the battery and/or alternator will cut your electrical power, shutting down all the powered instruments such as gear indicators. The other day I received no other damage than MG fire which perforated my pneumatic tanks, which on landing had disabled my Spitfire's brakes. The AI are affected by these forms of damage as well as a Heinkel whom I had hit in the engine area had lost his hydraulics and the right landing gear was slowly dropping out of its bay. Quite interesting really. art.NamedDamageTypes.AirbrakeDriveFailure part.NamedDamageTypes.AirbrakeHosePerforated part.NamedDamageTypes.AirbrakePistonFailure part.NamedDamageTypes.ChunkLargeDamage part.NamedDamageTypes.ChunkSmallDamage part.NamedDamageTypes.CockpitDamageFlag00 ... part.NamedDamageTypes.CockpitDamageFlag14 part.NamedDamageTypes.ControlsAileronsDisabled part.NamedDamageTypes.ControlsElevatorDisabled part.NamedDamageTypes.ControlsGenericKickdown part.NamedDamageTypes.ControlsRudderDisabled part.NamedDamageTypes.ElecBatteryFailure part.NamedDamageTypes.ElecGeneratorFailure part.NamedDamageTypes.ElecIlluminationFailure part.NamedDamageTypes.ElecMasterCompassFailure part.NamedDamageTypes.ElecPrimaryFailure part.NamedDamageTypes.ElecPriNavigationFailure part.NamedDamageTypes.ElecSecNavigationFailure part.NamedDamageTypes.ElecSecondaryFailure part.NamedDamageTypes.ElecTransceiverFailure part.NamedDamageTypes.ElecWeaponryFailure // Engine Damages Engine0 -
