  1. Good stuff Arthur...you were getting lower and lower at the end of the IL2 run.....
  2. I think replies are showing that there is interest in all 4 sims. Perhaps leave the evenings as they are, I wouldn't like to lose anyone because their 'ride' isn't available due to a sim being unused by the Dogz. We are very lucky as a community globally because of the availability of flight sims that we can enjoy and lucky as Dogz that we have an enthusiastic, helpful and wonderful group and the electronic wizardry to share them within. The downside IS the number of sims available I think, the days of only flying one sim exclusively are gone in the Dogz. 46 has been the mainstay for many years and has been honed to (almost) perfection by us but personal circumstances/equipment/preferences mean that 46 is no longer adequate as the core sim and numbers flying the sims available reflect these very personal choices. It appears to be inevitable that all this choice is going to be divisive and will naturally create highs and lows in attendances. I don't think we will have a core sim in the Dogz for many years, if at all.
  3. ☝️ I'm with Mr P in sentiment and order...except the CloD thing because I don't fly it so it's not complicated.
  4. After waiting a few months for production and delivery I have got a Realteus ForceFeel seat. It's purchase is a bit of a long story so I'm not going to go into it much but basically I was led to believe it is the replacement for the Gametrix Jetseat. However...it isn't because the Jetseat is still available and has compatible software for what I want to use it for whereas the ForceFeel doesn't...yet. That's my optimistic yet. So I'm going to live with it and try to get it going. I've replied here and not started a new topic because Crash started a relevant one here...I am trying to use Voicemeeter Banana to get the seat to work. I have installed Banana but I'm not finding the setup or support guides/videos very helpful. I have set it as default. I have selected my Speakers as A1 output and my Logitech USB headset as A2 output. Before I try anything else I want these to work properly however the speakers work fine but the headset tells me that the audio device is busy so I'm not getting any sound through it. Am I missing something basic? Are there other settings I have to do, like A1/A2 Input?
  5. Following on from our chat I will start a thread for our skins and liveries so that we can perhaps download them and see each other dressed correctly in all our shiny/drab skins Please add yours to this thread. 6. This thread could be used for those that would like to post their set up and for those looking for hints and tips. This is mine. I am all Saitek and have been using these controls for eight to ten years. I use an X52 Pro, 2 x throttle quadrants and a set of pedals. All of the control units are able to have a Saitek profile for them that allows for up to three profile modes within an individual profile. I have a GBS profile for the X52 and for one of the quadrants and use two profile modes for the X52 (gunsight has it's own). There is a wheel for changing profile modes on the fly attached to the stick. The attached Word document is my key mapping to the control units. It covers all GBS aircraft control mappings I have found to be needed, the only one not marked on the mapping is Z, my button for activating the bomb sight view. As it is, I have only one button free to assign and it is in the engine control group however if there is a need to assign more keys when new aircraft arrive I will probably move all the engine control key assignments to their own Engine Management mode, one of the three available. This will free up buttons for other roles. I haven't included the rudder pedals on the sheet. Apart from rudder control I have left and right braking on the corresponding toe pedal. The thing I like about GBS key mapping is that I can assign more than one action to a key. So long as there is no conflict on an individual aircraft with the chosen multiple actions it works fine. An example of this is I use the same button for the 'P47 Throttle/RPM/Turbosupercharger linkage' as I do for the 'I.16, Lagg3, Yaks, La5 ser 8, Pe2, A20 Supercharger' . No issue with this because the P47 doesn't have a supercharger mapping and the I.16, Lagg3, Yaks, La5 series 8, Pe2 and A20 don't have a turbosupercharger mapping. There are other examples of this, another one being the combinations I've set up for the cowl flaps/water and oil rads/inlet shutters. I have prop pitch mapped as the GBS pilot notes recommend that when taxiing the 109, 110 and 190 prop pitch is switched to manual and reduced to a minimum to decrease the probability of yawing whilst moving on the ground. It took a while to get the mappings into a logical and user friendly setup but I haven't changed it for months so for me, it works fine and I know that any over heating issues are user error due to swapping between aircraft types. Getting there though, over heating is rare now. Cheerzen GBS controls.docx
  7. Are they prepared to give you an equivalent board and processor?

Can you get a replacement over the counter?
  9. I think it's a very good idea you ambling over to Sainsbury's, yes. You may well end up looking like a lot of the others imitating the walking dead as they do the same....
  10. In all seriousness crashesnfails, come and fly with us. All your questions can be answered in practical terms and demos rather than the guys trying to explain in a post. Look at the calendar for BoS sessions and the Teamspeak window to see who's on the Dogz server....Dogz fly at all times mate. Cheerzen Sid
  11. Salute Arthur and Sheriff, that was one of the most exhilarating few minutes I've flown anywhere Watching the vid and seeing where your rounds were going, I was extremely lucky not to get hit by your artillery pieces. We had fun higher up too....have you got a vid of the La5 bouncing you two...whoever that was.... I love hearing the chat too...brilliant!
  12. Have you installed all of the software for the X52? There are drivers and the SST software. I have an x52 and have used the attached driver and software with Windows 10 successfully for years. I have so far managed to avoid using MadCatz software with my hotas, rudder pedals and quadrants...all Saitek. Saitek_X52Pro_Flight_Controller_SD6_64.exe SST_Software_64_6_6_6_9.exe
  13. Is this an alternative to the standard GUI?
  14. I went from 16 to 32 a couple of months ago, keeping the same type and speed of RAM. I didn't have any gains in mind other than DCS and other programmes are recommending 32 gig as the optimal amount to have when running their stuff under load so I did it for that because I like to be optimal with my hardware and give it room to manoeuvre. After having it in the pooter and using it a lot since installation I only have a couple of observations because there has been little to observe: No noticeable increase in load times, visuals, handling either to BoS or DCS or any programme. On my pooter '46 and BoS are quick loaders and DCS is usually slow. BoS settings are ultra whilst DCS is a mixture of high and medium settings, these giving me frame rates in the 90s and low 100s the pooter feels more stable in general, feeling smoother and I don't get the occasional 'overclocking warning' from my Asus X99 motherboard I used to have with 16 gig. This was cleared by going into the bios and changing the RAM setting from XMP back to auto, something it did on it's own sometimes after the pooter had been under load ie. playing 46, BoS or DCS for a few hours. My view is that whilst I can't see any noticeable gains I am happy that, along with my other hardware, I have more than enough RAM to cope with anything my programmes ask of it for a few years to come and that everything is working better in the background. To give clarity, my other hardware, mostly two years plus old, is: Asus X99-A motherboard Intel i7 5720 running at 3.3ghz 32 gig of Corsair 3000 MHz Vengeance RAM 850 watt Corsair power supply 2 x asus 1070gtx FTW in SLI Creative Fatality soundcard Asus 27" 2560 x 1440 144hz monitor with Gsync and secondary BenQ 19" monitor Cheerzen
  15. A useful guide here by Jade_Monkey https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/32596-quick-reference-printout-engine-settings-limits-temps/ Taken from the game notes, it has been very useful and answers some of the engine management questions that we bring up every so often. Doesn't include P47 or 109 kurfurst yet but he says it will be updated. Cheerzen
  16. Would be very happy to do a walk around and basics on the Viggen for those that would like to. PMing could sort a day and time I'm sure
  17. A Viggen flight.....fantastic!
  18. + 1 on these guides, they make life much easier. Essential reading.
  19. Useful link here chaps https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/41082-tips-flying-p-47/?tab=comments#comment-694959 The supercharger and turbosupercharger in the key mappings are completely separate mechanisms and are not linked on the P47....on this aircraft only the turbosupercharger mapping is relevant, the supercharger mapping is relevant to the I.16, Lagg3, Yaks, La5, Pe2 and A20. Did some checks just to make sure they aren't affected by each other before I changed my settings. I've done the linking of the throttle, RPM and turbosupercharger (shows as 'supercharger' lever in cockpit). It works but I haven't tested it much in flight. Cheerzen
  20. I heard that some of you peeps had obtained an A4 from somewhere? Could I have a link please? Edit...found it! https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=224989

    Persian Gulf Map?

I have the Persian Gulf map and it is gorgeous. What it does however is up the game folder size, I have Caucasus, Nevada, Normandy and Persian Gulf and they all total up to more than 90gb...Nevada and Persian Gulf are both about 32gb in size. This puts my install folder at a whopping 146gb. Something to think about too.
