  1. Heh heh. That's hilarious. I would love to see them perform sometime. I got to see the Canadian Snowbirds back in the early 90s, and operating a larger number of AC (like the Arrows) is pretty impressive. I wish I could have seen the Red Arrows when they had Gnats. I love those things. Last time I saw any was in the silly movie "Hot Shots".
  2. Yeah I forgot about that. I used to hang out with a couple of friends who were tankers in the 128th (Ga. Nat Guard).
  3. Ha! Badaim kills me as always.
  4. A salute to our Canadian allies and pals. I should have realized that, but I never assumed Canada was actually in there listening. I figured most of the allies involved in this current difficulty would be gone, but I didn't realize they were having such a good time. Canucs seem to have thier priorities well placed, even if their heads do bounce around on South Park. I bet all our assorted delegations had a few laughs over this maroon.
  5. Heh heh, Hef still has my application.....seriously. I sent that in yrs ago mainly to give my friends more ammo for proclaiming my insanity to each other in converstation. I'm still waiting, but don't be surprised if you see me on a future episode of "The Girls Next Door". But it will probably be as another old guy that's too old to do anything about his surroundings though. I'll take what I can get.
  6. Ha! I wouldn't let Gene know that though; I'd love to know what he thinks of this moron. If you've ever watched that show about his family on the E channel (dunno what it's called in other lands), you might get the impression that he would have a very sarcastic, vulgar, and insulting remark about ol' Gad. I rather like ol' Gene. And WTF is it with the US and British Governments? It's like Neville Chamberlain and Jimmy Carter are running things again.
  7. I'm embarrassed that the US allows the UN to be based in this country on valuable property. Im also aghast that Trump lets Ghadaffi put a tent on his property. WTF?
  8. Man this was great. Almost as good as that guy on "Cities of the Underworld" on the History channel.
  9. I don't think they thought of anohter one they could add with minimal effort; The original P-80A as Gibbage submitted it to Oleg, with tip tanks and speed brakes. That would be ultra nice, if It can be suggested in time.
  10. Yea, he should get them. Early in the war, their were a fair number of sgt pilots in the Pacific due to the fact that they had finished pilot training but not the commissioning process. I can't remember many facts on that, but there were a fair number. I know it was due to the severe need of pilots. So there is plenty of precedent to use there. Im surprised they didn't go ahead and issue them. Maybe by that point they thought the need wasn't quite as much. Many air arms have used non commissioned pilots in desperate times, especially in WW2.
  11. Havent seen one of those type starters in use in yrs. I also had no idea that those guys making new build FWs had created a D model. Hollywood needs to break out the old idea book on war movie ideas.
  12. I hope this link works and you can see it. This guy was obviously a gunner methinks from the photo his sister has in the background. The average history ignorant journalist writing this said he was a fighter pilot......in a B24.
  13. But have you scored any chix yet? (can sense everyone looking at me with disgust)...... Hey man, I have my priorities. God...... if we only had digicams and phone-cams back in the damn 70s. Sheesh.
  14. That first arty piece looked like it was from the US civil war. I saw no breech block or recoil mechanism etc. I wonder if it was some kind of mortor.
  15. This is a great post, put up just a wee bit before I started inflicting myself on you guys, uh, I mean, hanging out here. I think the four engine job is an Argus..... I think. I like the F-5A as well. Lots of neat stuff there. Some really great material there. I wonder if JP got his call sign from his kids, or did he name the kids after the call sign?
  16. Ive always wondered just WTF serendepity, or however you spell it, means. Nice skins as always.
  17. Those are great. Excellent video work, and the music is very good in the first one. Never thought Id ever see stuff like FWs and MS406 at airshows. A friend of mine spent the airshow season in England a few yrs ago and rated it second only to getting laid the first time as his life's memorable moments.
  18. A more realistic test would be to mount it solidly, as her body recoils absorbing some of the energy. (Aren't you all impressed with how edumacated I am? You think that's bad; Richard Davis of the Second Chance body armor corp used to shoot himself in the chest with a 6 inch SW 44 mag.....WITHOUT the hardplate. Used to beat hell outta him and bruised him pretty bad, but he always survived, and sold a bucket load of body armor. I wonder if Utube has vids of that. Oh, BTW, there's really no bullet proof anything.......it's bullet RESISTANT.
  19. Thanx. That comes in handy. I found that for the application of flying the IL4 from the nose while skip bombing, I leave it all on, and just hit A when I get into the nose. I musta hit the wrong thing last time. Nobody else has ever heard of it either.
  20. Wish we had the SM79 for the pedastal cmpn. The post war Italian AF used that thing for several yrs after the war. I saw a war movie made in the 50s that used a bunch of those, but I cant remember the name.
  21. Guy is building a damn island. OMG. And WTF is an elderberry?
  22. Oh this is great US guys, our plan to get the Brits and Canucs to destroy each other is proceeding nicely. Then we can split up BG's kingdom and get all those neat air museums from the Brits. I got dibs on that neat garage Painless painted and this RAF flying rig. And I discovered that the Canadians DO have heads that bobble up and down when they talk. It's gotta be true;, I saw it on South Park.
  23. Ah, great observation Rattler Tribunus. As you have discovered yourself, short bursts work out best in air combat. The WW2 aces frequently mentioned 3 second bursts as max. This is reflected very well in IL2.
  24. YEah DT, I saw that yrs ago, and I think they had a series of books. The pix of Einstien in the cockpit of what looks like a Tornado is kinda neat. Gotta protect the public from the dangers of an old WW2 fighter, so let's salvo dozens of 2.75s all over a populated area. I have the Air and Space mag that has that story in it. It was a clear indication of the over confidence in missle/rocket/radar armament back then. The shoulda fired an unguided Genie nuke missle, since it would go into oblivion like the rockets and never come down. I wonder if anyone in ADC ever heard of proximity fuses.
