Sounds like you might need to tweak the settings in the nvidia control panel. If the settings there aren't correct you can get that banding issue. I don' t think it's your new monitor in this case.

I think that's Colin's point. The laptop does connect to the network OK via ethernet, just not via wifi. Fortunately, the replacement wireless card is only a few pounds, so it's worth a try even if the problem is something else. Jabo

Could everyone who's planning to attend Legends this year check the Accommodation thread and ensure that you're aware of the prices and if you have a problem with prices for the Cambridge hotel please, please SAY SOMETHING! Even if it's a PM (If you're happy, vote in the poll!). The Cambridge hotel is more expensive than we (OK, I) first thought and since we will always try to be inclusive of EVERYONE, I need to know if there's a problem. Cheers (A very stressed) Jabo

Check the antenna cables have not become disconnected from the wifi card. The wifi card should be accessible via a cover on the underside of the laptop. Jabo
