    Monitor Down.

Problem solved! Took old monitor to bits this afternoon and found the culprit - a loose power connector Five minutes with a soldering iron and we're back in business! Hurrah! Jabo
  2. Too cool.
  3. That's fab. Thanks for your session last night Kev, very informative and a nice little fight or two as well! Good video too. Thanks again. Jabo
  4. Spooky. It's almost like he knows you're there.
  5. Hi all, Well, turned the rig on this morning and lo and behold, monitor #2, my venerable 19" HP has finally given up the ghost. Tried the usual (checked it was plugged in and then changed power cable etc) but no good. It is deceased, it is no more, it is an ex-monitor. This gives me a problem. I now have a space on my desk where it used to live. Then I had a brainwave! Move the other monitor over and the space is gone! Success! Ah. Different problem, There's a gap now on the other side of the desk. Bugger. The upshot is that where I used to have two monitors I now only have one. This makes Jabo sad. This is nothing like Dr Banner getting cross you understand, but it's pretty bad. So I have a new plan! Get a new 'main' monitor and the 20" can then become monitor #2! Here's what I'm considering; http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/samsung-ls24b350hs-en-full-hd-24-led-monitor-12592986-pdt.html Basically this pushes the budget til it squeaks, but it's v. nice. Thoughts? 6. Happy Birthday Arjen! Well done for keeping the Dogz out of mischief (well, mostly) for another 12 months! Jabo
  7. Well done Arthur for attempting to get this thread back on track.
  8. I got it from the BBC this morning. They've now changed 'last' to 'oldest surviving'. I thought Wellum was still around too although he wasn't flying at the start
  9. Flt Lt William Walker, the last remaining pilot to have fought in the Battle of Britain passed away yesterday aged 99. The end of an era indeed. "They went with songs to the battle, they were young. Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them." 10. Of course, sorry, head really isn't in the game recently - dunno what's going on in there... Jabo
  11. No, I hadn't got the sound turned up, so I didn't here what the commentator said. That was shot a while back then. Hoof was killed in, what, '96? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Gpu Fried.

Rog, I suspect you'll be pretty pleased with that. Jabo
  15. It sounds a bit like you're getting spikes or spurious inputs from the stick. Does the stick work OK in other games? Jabo
  16. Fair point. If he paid for it then that's ok. A touch of the green-eyed monster is all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Which Airbrush?

OK, Having bought a crap airbrush which has now gone in the bin - I'm having another go - found this on Amazon - which is handy as I have some birthday vouchers to spend. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gravity-High-Precision-Action-Airbrush/dp/B003EJYY38/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1350174013&sr=8-2-fkmr0 Thoughts anyone?
  18. Update #4 Been a busy dog today, soon only a small amount of progress made... The undercarriage is not fixed in place (and won't be until much later), but the wings and fin are. Tailplane tomorrow and then the bulk of the building is done! It's all gone together quite well really, there was a small problem with the nose as the joint between the fuselage halves was a tiny bit out (a really tiny bit) and therefore left a big (small really) gap which I didn't like. 30 seconds with a needle file sorted that out and its all good. 19. Seriously? FFS. Jabo
  20. the decals are a bit too glossy which makes the panel look patchy. I'm considering a thin coat of satin varnish to even things up when the decals are done followed by a drop of clear adhesive into the well of each dial. Or given that you can't really see the panel I'll glue it in place and forget about it. Jabo
  21. Update #3 - Interior and armament The interior nearing completion, Also shown main and rear instrument panels and rear gun. It's all a bit clean yet, I think a bit of dirtying is required before I think about putting the fuselage together. I'm not very happy with the instrument panel though, the decals supplied for it don't sit down well due to the raised areas for the egdes of the dials. I'd probably find a different way if I do another one, Actually I'm considering the torp version after this and the others...
  22. You probably also need to map keys for mixture up/down and auto and supercharger up/down both of which have a massive impact on performance at high altitude - for some aircraft anyway. Don't forget the trim buttons too! Jabo
  23. You might want to think about downloading teamviewer too, so if I or one of the other guys need to remote in to help, you're all ready. We managed to do two complete set ups on painless's rig that way, so it's a useful facility Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Hi Barnaby, if you can get online tomorrow evening, we can work through it with you - it's a little difficult with the time delay here. Jabo
