According to a press release from the IWM Lambeth and David Cundall, the operation to unearth 36 Mk14 Spitfires buried since 1945 in Burma is expected to begin in the first weeks of January 2013 with the first aircraft (hopefully) a few days later. 17 people including UK archaeologists, academics from the University of Leeds and an American film crew will fly out to the location at Mingaladon airfield in Burma during December. Problem solved! Took old monitor to bits this afternoon and found the culprit - a loose power connector Five minutes with a soldering iron and we're back in business! Hurrah! Jabo
