  1. O M G - Just came across this from the IWM "The Eagle Squadron will form the centrepiece of the IWM Duxford Spring Air Show 2013 on Sunday 26 May, opening the show at 1400 with a four-ship routine before splitting into pairs, followed by a formation with B-17 Preservation Ltd’s Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress ‘Sally B’. The Eagle Squadron will take to the skies for a second time during the Air Show’s three and a half hour flying programme when they fly in formation with the RAFAT The Red Arrows prior to the Reds’ show-closing routine. This one-off formation looks set to end the IWM Duxford Spring Airshow 2013 on a high."
  2. Apparently she'll be the lead in the horsemen 3-ship! Incidentally, yesterday's pilot was one Steven Hinton - son of 'the' Steve Hinton - some guys have all the luck
  3. And a certain P-51 gets an airing!
  4. I know where there's an abandoned dispersal hut...
  5. Definitely - Only FT and Sweper are confirmed for this year though. What do you fellows want to do? Meanwhile back at the ranch... Snafu and the Hawk 75 returning today from a show on the other side of the ditch.
  6. Picked up the Huey beta this evening, Will be giving it a try tomorrow!

    A Sad Day...

Thanks Rog and thank you for your efforts too - the shop page was inspired. Given time, I expect J.E. will re-emerge although in what guise I don't know.. Jabo

    A Sad Day...

I think you must be thinking of a different company.

    A Sad Day...

indeed...Jabo Enterprises is (for the time being at least) no more. Ongoing issues with our supplier has led me to decide that continually chasing them for updates is no longer worth the time or effort. I have had one order for a baseball cap placed with them for a few months now and although the company in question are still trading, they no longer respond to my calls or emails. I will refund the order for the baseball cap, but could I ask that until such time as I decide what to do for the future, please do not place any further orders for shirts, jackets, boxer shorts etc. As and when I have the time, I will look for another supplier, but for the time being I'm afrad this ride is over. Regards Jabo

    New Toy Mmm

Dunno Arthur, if I was about to fork out 12K for a lens, I'd certainly consider a solid case for it.

Of course, you could always go for this, Arthur! Canon's new baby - the EF200-400mm f/4L IS USM extender 1.4x - released this week. Yours for the princely sum of £11,999 - Yes you do get change from 12 grand! Although if you want the case to go with it, that's another £700!
  14. The Eagles return Liz getting an engine test earlier today and... Snafu getting airborne for a test flight. Credit to OP for the photo's Jabo
  15. And a certain container is opened...
  16. ooo.ooo.OOOO, I see that one of sidney camm's finest is now on the particpant list - Miss Demeanor anyone? Hunter & Sabre - oh my.
  17. You're right Chris, the 'Grumman Ironworks' were such an integral part of the Legends experience it was a said day when they were grounded due to an seemingly arbitrary edict from the paper shufflers at the CAA. I see from TFC's website that the hellcat is also being worked on. It would be good to see all three cats in the air together (even better if we could get the tiger back too!)
  18. So first the bad news - it looks like BA won't be able to make it the good news - a different sort of American fighter may be able to. The Wildcat fires up for the first time in 5 years! Jabo
  19. Indeed it is Mick, it's also the only substantially complete Do17 in existance. Quite a coup for Hendon although it will be several years before it will be on show anywhere.Desalination alone is likely to take 5 years and stabilising the airframe quite a while after that.
  20. @ SkyPup, one of the other BBC films on the subject reported that two of the crew drowned and were eventually washed up on the coast and two were captured. Jabo
  21. Apparently this aircraft will form the centerpiece of the new building planned for the RAF museum at Hendon. It will be displayed in an 'as found' condition Jabo

Nice. The Tamron 70-300mm is around this pp too. Better glass imho.
  23. @ Swep - Here. Find Flying Legends in the list and click 'Book Now'. Select Saturday 13th July from the calendar and click 'Proceed'. On the next screen the 2 day entry passes are at the top of the list. Just enter the number of passes you need and click 'Proceed' to start the checkout process. Bear in mind that because tickets are posted to you there is a delivery charge (£7.00 for international, £2.50 UK). If people coming from abroad want a UK address you can send them to so as to save on postage PM me for details. Jabo
  24. OK, group booking info; Group size needs to be 10 or more; Daily charge (adults) - £27.60 (single advance ticket £30) - 2 days therefore is £55.20 Daily charge (seniors (60 and over) - £22.05 (single advance ticket £24) - 2 days therefore is £44.10 OR Adult 2 Day ticket - £58.65 (Advance bookings only - no group rates) Senior 2 Day ticket - £46.90 (Advance bookings only - no group rates) So group booking is marginally cheaper, but I think the extra admin outweighs the cost advantage. What do you guys think? Jabo
  25. Actually, that particular aircraft only has the 'stars & bars' on the underside at present.
