Cool Buddy. Looks like a nice start to your immersion into the game. I would also suggest you get a nice headset. I've noticed your coms have been scratchy and break up too often. Might not be the headset but, if your going to invest in something like a real sim pit then coms has to be a priority. I use Sennheiser PC 161's. I've had a few nice sets of Sennheisers. They make some pretty good quality stuff. I can't see skimping on one of the most important features in the games immersion, communication. Just my opinion. I enjoy the conversations with squad mates. It's kind of frustrating when you can't understand your fellow k9's. It looks very nice Cuda. Kevin

Hey Trout. Erco has two eVGA 7600 KO's that are PCIe that he will give away if you pay the shipping. I am not sure of the specifications on the cards but, they're free minus the shipping. It might help and if not you can pass them on to another Dog that can use them. Check his post in the DD HH Only section. I hope you find something that fixes what ails you. Logos

Very well done mate. May all the K-9's have a blessed holiday season. Peace and love to you all. Logos

Yo Mates. This post has some pics of the older coins I have dug. There's a few old token coins, foreign coins, Military Buttons / Medals, and other stuff mixed in as well. The three across the top are Canadian Pennies. I got one Mexican brass coin that was "holed" for a necklace. I loaded two picture sizes, 1024 x 768 & 1600 x 1200. Please let me know which one you prefer. The larger 1600 x 1200 may not fit on your monitor depending on your resolution settings. I love old coins. I think they are my favorite thing to recover. The Military items I recover I hold in respect and honor of the soldier that may have lost it. The few pieces of nice gold and silver jewelry are really cool too. BTW, the 1886 Morgan Silver Dollar was a reward for returning a ladies cell phone I found lying along the Rock River on the bank. The husband found it in Arizona while hunting for Indian artifacts. Kind of ironic and very cool. Thanks for viewing and let me know about the picture size if ya' old Dogz remember to. Logos

I can try. I am more familiar with Whites products than other manufacturers. There might be a forum sight he can access for Garrett brand detectors. I have learned most everything from the Whites Forum where folks post there finds and exchange information on the sport. I posted a link to the Garrett sight. I think this will get you to their forums. That will be his best bet on learning how to use his new "toy". Once you see what he starts recovering you'll be getting yourself a tector. I am quite partial to Whites myself. I own three of their machines now. One model for a backup or to loan to friends and another submersible metal detector for water detecting. This is my metal detecting arsenal. It's a Whites DFX 300. It's made in Sweet Home, Oregon USA and is one of the top companies in their technology and IMO the very best in customer service and standing behind their products. The DFX is a two frequency machine that uses computer software to determine what the target most likely is before you dig it. Of course it's not perfect but, it is very accurate on telling you what you can expect to recover. I've got three different types of coils for the machine. Small, medium, and large. They each have their niche in the various types of hunting I do. The small 4 X 6 inch coil works well in "trashy" areas with lots of targets close together.

I'm a Pack Rat. I keep all my finds. The modern clad coinage that looks like crap when it comes out of the dirt will get cleaned in a tumbler and recirculated. I'm not sure what I will do with a lot of my old relic items. Some I may donate to local museums if they want them. The old coins and some jewelry I will keep until I die probably. I reckon if I start to get get a few nice rings and other good jewelry I might sell that stuff off to support the sport / hobby. I consider this a sport more than a hobby. It's a lot like hunting or fishing. You stalk your prey and you never know what you'll get until you lay eyes on it. Did you guys notice the Sterling Silver Aviator's Wings I found. They are WWII era I believe and I found them a few inches off a sidewalk. They are one of my favorite finds. Take care mates. Logos

Thanks JP. I live in northern Illinois. Dixon, Illinois to be precise. Most of my finds come from within 50 miles from my home. There is a lot of old history along the Rock River area I hunt. My oldest coin, the 1853 3 cent Silver "trime" was recovered along the Rock River in a small park. Back around the 1830's 40's Abe Lincoln and several other soldiers were chasing a renegade Indian named Chief Black Hawk up and down the river. We have found some evidence from their being camped along the river banks. My MDing buddy found a round lead bullet from a mold. They must have had bullet making parties. I have found several globs of old lead. This is a great sport and it keeps me out of trouble, ie, bars. Thanks for your interest. I've got lot's of goodies and a few hundred bucks in modern clad coinage to clean up. Later. Kevin

Hey Mates. I've been AWOL for awhile. I have been digging a lot of holes in search of lost treasure. I've found some pretty cool stuff since the end of April when I first started this sport of metal detecting. I am going to attempt to post some pics of some of my better finds. It's cold and the ground is starting to freeze up so I might be "grounded" from from swinging my tector for awhile. Looking forward to doing more flying now that I can't dig holes. Kevin aka Logos

I'm sure Doubletap and Psycho are doing their part in NY

http://www.youthink.com/quiz_images/quiz983outcome3.jpg I ain't smart enough to get the picture in here. That's why I am a C5 Galaxy and not some fancy fighter jet. Yes, I do have maintenance issues. They gettin' kinda' personal, ain't they? :pysch_couch: Man, even my "friends" are getting on my case! Sheesh!

~S~ Leper mate. I fly with some of your brethren from down under on hyperlobby. There are a few Australian pilots in the Rouge Squadron that run the Skies of Fire and Skies of Valor servers on HL. Darn nice chaps and great pilots as well. I am some what nocturnal on the weekends so flying well into the wee hours of the morning is not strange for me. Come and fly with us if you have the time and welcome to our humble forum sight. Have fun with this game. It's a blast and the community is overall a great group of virtual pilots that just enjoy flying together. Logos

~S~ Tonar Man, you know how to have fun. That looks like a blast and to have a handful of mates to join in must make for some great fun. Good fortune on your project. Logos

Hmmm? Who gives a rip about them crap fires bouncing on landings? The only thing they are good for is Luftwaffe target practice. Just leave the gear up and belly land with a plane full of NAZI lead. That is all. Logos Evil Red Forces. Thought you might have missed me.

Hey all. I am considering picking up a joystick for a friend of mine that thinks he wants to try flying IL2. I was surfing e-bay and ran across a few and wanted to get some feedback. Have any of you ever used the Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 usb stick? If so is it a good solid stick for this game? Also do you need the software drivers to get the stick to function? I was also looking at some M.S.S.W. Force feedback sticks. I know some of you use those. I was think going with out that for a beginner. I guess I just really want some input about a stick that has the throttle and rudder functions built in that works well and won't cost too much money. I might be able to get a deal on e-bay for a decent stick. It don't have to be new. Sometimes old models are better than the new ones. Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions. ~S~ OB1 mate I trust you didn't let them crazy Irish wanabees dump that green die in your malt beverage. That shit will trash your liver. Save your liver for serious alcohol consumption. NO freakin' dies or other chemicals need to be ingested. Logos :wav2:

Fritzlheimer mate. I hope you get your rig sorted out soon. We can always use another blue guy on Sundays. Have a good one buddy. :wav2:
