  1. Coolio! Thanks Sweper
  2. Everyone knows Edna Mode designed Ironman's underwear... It is not referenced, but common knowledge among those in-the-know.
  3. Yep, made by Spar Aerospace. Their first commissioned prototype, before the Canadarm fitted to the space shuttles, was built it the early 1960s. It was called the Canadafinger and fitted to Canadian and American satellites to give "the bird" when overflying Soviet-aligned nations. Rumour has it that the initiative was privately funded by a shadowy figure known in diplomatic circles only as "B.G."
  4. :o That's IL2!!
  5. fireman, did
  6. That is pretty cool
  7. Hey Fritzl nice to see you back, 8 GIGS of FREAKING RAM! Whoa! I agree, nice rig! Unfortunately, I don't have much input to give regarding your questions...
  8. Where do I get that? Sorry for being flippant, Desperado- Here's a more serious reply: TeamSpeak is the software for communications- it's free, but you'll need a headset. A head tracking device such as TrackIR (there are other FREE softwares that are the equivalent of TrackIR available). It replaces the 8-way hat switch by recording the movement of your head (ie: you look left and the view pans to the left. In many people's opinion (including my own) this is the next useful item after a joystick. Hyperlobby is free software to play online. As for a million dollars, you can go to one of the last solvent banks, The Blairgowrie Bank of Canada, and request a loan. Just make sure you pay it back on time with interest if you like your knee caps. (there I go being flippant again).
  9. Happy Birthday Shadow!!
  10. LOL! Awesome! If only t'were true
  11. Welcome to the pound Zooly!
  12. That's awful
  13. I'm going to add the Dewoitine D.520, the Armée de l'Air is generally viewed as having been overwhelmed by the Luftwaffe in 1940 but the Dewoitine actually gave more than it took and its pilots liked it. It was quite modern in 1940 and, in a different scenario (if France and the UK had attacked immediately when Poland was invaded, rather than sitting on their heels, for example), might have really put some hurt on Germany's airforce. Mind you, I don't know if it really fits in this thread: it has been forgotten rather than judged harshly.
  14. Very curious to see pics of that soviet-era kit. Congrats on finishing the first phase to a career in the legal profession! [don't listen to the 'haters', they're just jealous of our ability to spin bullshit into gold ]
  15. That is HYSTERICAL!!!
  16. Thanks for the tutorial post... early in the GIAP campaign, I tried (again and again) on one of Klinger's maps to kill the T-34s to no avail. Thanks to this I now realize I was not coming in at too shallow an angle. I look forward to trying this out.
  17. For what it's worth, I think you're right that the 14.1" screen is better. Myself, I'd go even smaller, I think Roger's suggestion about the Eee (or equivalent) is a good one I bought a Vaio TZ-160 (11 inches) and though it took a short while (about a month) to get used to it, it's fantastic when I have to go out of town- thin and light and the screen size is just fine. I recently bought a 15.4" Dell XPS and I wouldn't especially want to travel with it. its seven pounds compared to the Vaio's pound is a huge a difference. The Vaio TZ series are on the pricey side, but the netbooks are very reasonable.
  18. ROFL!!
  19. :k9lmao:
  20. I'm no expert but it appears not to have been nearly as uncommon as one might think, as this information from a website about UK submarines attests (All HMS ... are submarines, not surface vessels): HMS Parthian sank Italian submarine “DIAMANTEâ€
  21. An "all-arms" sim... can you imagine the online campaigns, coordinating ground forces (artie barrages, tank columns, amphibious landings) with air recon/ Jabo support etc... it would really heighten the immersion factor! It's really great that Oleg is designing BoB with a view to future-proofing and 3rd party modability... all in all, I believe it's going to BLOW OUR MINDS not just with eye-candy but with the depth of simulation (just remember what he said about how if the generator for a searchlight is damaged the whole chain of dependent components will be affected...) Thank goodness Rise of Flight looks to be releasing soonish (mid-09?) because I really need something to tide me over until BoB...
  22. Well done TOAD! Doing the Dogz proud!
